Planet Zoo - Custom Billboards

This images are actually from Planet Zoo using the habitat educational board already available in the game. The African elephant educational display was created using two boards stacked over each other, with this new and amazing upcoming feature that Planet Zoo will release, the possibilities will be endless as we will have so many different sizes of screens. With a little creativity, everything now is possible from custom exhibit signs, zoo related wall arts, mosaics, exhibit backgrounds, murals, realistic menus for restaurants and cafes, and everything else anyone can think of.
Oh my, Danny_zoo, these are amazing! Did you draw all these illustrations yourself? I hope you will put some of these on the workshop, as I would definitely use them. Great work!

I did not, I have drawn several illustrations in the same playful style to fill in the gaps where it is hard to find available ones. Creating unique illustrations would be ideal, but with everything that is required on top of designing the billboards it would definitely take up too much time.

The following set is hopefully a sign of things to come in just a matter of weeks. Southeast Asia is home to nearly 15 percent of the world's tropical forests. It is also one of the world's deforestation hotspots. When you combine this with poaching, no other region in this planet has lost so much in so little time. Some of the best zoos in the world have attempted to showcase the magnificent plants and animals that call Southeast Asia home by creating fascinating exhibits. It is my hope that maybe very soon, Planet Zoo will bring the tropical forests of Southeast Asia to our computer screens. In any case I will be happy with any other dlc they end up revealing, but everything tells me this is it.

This new feature will forever change the look of this game. Paul78 I think a while back I mentioned to you that when this feature finally was released by Frontier, realism would match creativity. I believe that time is now. A TMT would of course go a very long way as well.

I think the billboards feature was completely underutilized in PC, and that is understandable. Aside from dark rides projection screens and random advertisement, they definitely never lived up to their potential in my opinion. PC could definitely sustain itself without it.

The exclusion in Planet Zoo of any type of signage was definitely an attention grabber. I always admired all those folk who spent countless hours creating beautiful art out of pixels, and endless lines to imply complete paragraphs. I was never able to look away and imagine it was something else, so I kept on postponing working on projects until this day arrived, and now it is here.

So many ideas, possibilities, endless potential.

I hope we soon also get the barrier lints from Planco so we can use them around lamp posts and fountains and such so guests dont walk through them anymore and vista points which can be used for like botanical gardens so guests go there and watchthe plants. We been asking for these things sinch the launch and hope at some point makes it into Planet Zoo.

As for DLC, I still hope we get birds, would love to make an Aviary, and butterflies, would be awesome to make a butterfly garden, they have those at zoo's here in The Netherlands.
Yeah birds of prey and paradise and butterflies. I love the Amsterdam zoo btw

I dont' care so much about guests clipping thorugh lamps and so on - and if they did do something about it - it would likely be giving the lamps and so on a hit box. Considering how huge some of the hitboxes are on items in the game, I'd rather have them clip through stuff then have a five foot hit box on a 1 foot item.

In Planet Coaster they added an item called the barrier ribbon which was used as a way to block guests on paths. That's what people are talking about. Like the billboards it's possible they'll port it over to Planet Zoo.

Ah - okay. I've never played any of the Planet X games except for PZ. I'm really here for the animals and building pretty zoos, not most of the other aspects of the game (personnel management, rides, guest management).

That's fine, that's what a lot of people play for. The implementation of barrier ribbons is highly requested mostly to increase the realism. In Coaster you could sink them into the ground and make them invisible but they still worked. A lot of people don't like that guests walk through wall pieces or path-specific scenery items because it ruins the immersion. Personally I've never been too bothered, but I can understand why people want it and it's not like the inclusion is going to lessen my experience with the game.

The thing I want more is vista points, which was basically an item you place to make guests look at something specific. You could use vista points to create botanical gardens or to make guests look at statues/other scenery items, which is nice. That would be a great inclusion for Zoo.

Hope that after 16 months since release we finally get a fix so Items you set as Favorite actually stay set as favorite, see ticket i keep making but never gets looked at https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/23560 most people probably dont even realize that this issue exist if you dont monitor your favorites.
Hey @FunGaming, so the player data file stores favourites. That's saved in your player save folder C:\Users\{WindowsUsername}\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Planet Zoo\{SteamIDNumber}\Saves\zplayer and it's per Steam account by the long number there. This is backed up by Steam Cloud, so if you're using multiple computers or sharing your profile, this could come into conflict being updated from multiple sources. It would be worth trying disabling Steam Cloud for this game via right clicking the game in Steam, selecting properties and unticking the Steam Cloud option, but fair warning, this will stop achievement data and scenario progress among other things being backed up and shared across your computers. Otherwise, it might be useful to copy the zplayer data file before and after the issue and emailing both to our support teams.

I dont share my profile nor do i use multiple computers, this same was present in planet coaster for a long time but finally got fixed in a update in 2019, i will look into sending these files sometimethis week or next week.

I only have one question on the video billboards ... I presume (perhaps wrongly) that this is going to have a MAJOR impact on FPS.

Can someone confirm and can one of the devs let us know how severe we're talking about?

God damn it! They work in Planet Coaster!

Unbelievable! Oh I am gonna spend the next few weeks putting together dozens of these!

I don't mind a modest drop in performance! These just look superb!

Audio on them could be a bit louder, but then I assume there will be some option to vary that?

But these are glorious! Oh man I am over the moon about these!

In Planet Coaster, you have to be playing on the lowest speed to get them to work; I presume that's the same here?

Not that it matters ... these are simply brilliant. Simply brilliant.
