Planet Zoo: Eurasia Animal Pack arriving 13 Dec ❄️

Thank you Frontier many thousands of times. When I started reading the speculation after the stream, I was a little disappointed with the choice of animals. Now that I saw the effective tier list of the DLC, I had to hold back my tears of joy (this has never happened to me because of a computer game ;-D)
When I think of many comments here in the forum before the announcement, I hope that some community members have learned something. Maybe we should hold off on our judgments in the future until our assumptions are officially confirmed, or maybe not.

Thank you very much again, frontier! I love this game and hope the support continues for a long time. Many greetings from Switzerland!

I'm SO happy frontier
SOSOSOSOSO HAPPY
Favourite animal pack without a doubt, execpt the saiga and sloth bear (animals that I'm still glad we got) the rest of species were animals I really wanted the species.
Takins and swans!!!! Aaaargh can't wait to use them :))))
The sloth bear does feel a little bit out of place, but I don't mind it that much. Super excited!
Any chances we can learn what subspecies the takin represents?

having a good waterfowl rig is better than any flying bird change my mind

so happy to see this pack, planzo team. while i have my reserves about some animals not being common in captivity, many of my qualms are reversed with the flexicolor update as well as some of the other stand-out animals in the pack. thanks as always, this team is the best one at frontier. <3

WOW I have never this pleasantly surprised by a DLC outcome twist! This might be my favourite one of the entire year afterall!
Waterfowl!! Finally we get the mute swan! Seeing how common all the other animals are in captivity, the Saiga being an oddball actually fits in now, especially since the theme is Eurasia.

I am generally very glad about an Eurasia Animal Pack. The animals are very good representatives and good picks, even the exhibit with small tortoise seems very interesting. I would love to have it in an actual enclosure but it's fine in an exhibit too. I like the twist that people were unsure about whether yesterdays clue was a Wisent or a Takin and we ended up with both.

The scenario map looks fantastic, the entire rich details and buildings are a sight to behold.

I wouldn't want to replace any animals here, but I think if we got the Musk Ox, Markhor and Pallas Cat in the future, then Eurasia (Asia) would be perfectly fully represented now for me.

I will be buying the pack to support Frontier, but my honest reaction is that this pack could have been much better, and I think Frontier know it.

My favourite packs have animals that any Zoo would be proud to have, with smaller additions that fit interesting / new niches within the game. The Conservation Pack, to illustrate, is a good example of a pack introducing new models, with diverse and interesting animals at the same time.

I get the feeling that the Eurasia pack is missing this diversity, these interesting animals that could have been introduced, but just could not. I was dissapointed by the animals in the Oceania pack, to be honest. This is the second pack in a row where I do not understand the choices made. I hope Frontier is able to do more for future DLC, and really introduce animals that add something new to the game (as opposed to three boars in three updates).

I'm a bit confused on why several people think the sloth bear feels out of place. The takin is also only found in Asia, and the bison and tortoise are only found in Europe, so not all animals belong to both Europe and Asia. I think the pack is well balanced.
I think it's because sloth bears are from subtropical/tropical areas in India while the rest lives in cold climate habitats. At least for me that's why they feel a little off (still happy to get them though).

Dont see why a zoo wouldnt be proud to Display wisent, takin, wolverine and especally sloth bear and saiga.
Those are all highlight in many zoos collection/would be if they were more common

I think the sloth bear being included means Frontier knows what the remaining DLC are (max 4 left I think), and knows there isn't really a better opportunity coming up to fit in it. Same with the wisent to a degree. Think that's why they went so broad with this theme compared to other packs. Think that means an India pack is just never going to happen which is a little sad.

There's not much else to say, but this is one solid pack, I'm real excited. I haven't seen the trailer yet...

Let's talk about the roster:
  • Wild boar - an awesome choice for Europe and one of the remaining keystone species there. I'm quite excited to have them in-game, especially since I've seen them and their piglets running around here in Texas. Can't wait. 10/10
  • Wolverine - found in North America, Europe, and Asia, the wolverine is a popular animals that people were begging for. Strong and feisty, I'm sure that it'll be fun to house. 10/10
  • Mute swan - it's our 1st waterfowl. That's all I'm gonna say. 10/10
  • Wisent - the European bison is another keystone species from Europe. Europe is a step closer to feeling complete. 9/10
  • Takin - a requested mountainous species that people wanted, and now it's here. Not a fan, personally, but I'm sure it'll be fun. 7/10
  • Saiga - an odd antelope, with a rare presence in captivity. But you know what? Who cares. I'm happy with any animal as long as it is actually found in captivity. 6/10
  • Sloth bear - kinda feels a little off, because I would associate it with tropical environments, but still. I like this choice for the long run and it'll give India an iconic animal. 5/10
  • Hermann's tortoise - not a bad pick, but I'm not sure how often I'd use it. 5/10

Now about the update, modular gift shops sounds amazing. So many ideas to make them.
New tiger patterns? Now our tigers will really pop in color. I can't wait to use them

Hmmm, what do I think of this pack.

The theme was certainly not one that I predicted, I really thought Mountains was a sure thing. It funnily enough still could be used at a later time given only two of the typical choices for that theme, the takin and wolverine were used here.

It is a little thematically odd imo to include the takin and sloth bear in a Eurasian Animal pack, as those are both 100% Asian and have no presence nor historical presence in Eurasia. To stick to the theme better I would've rather seen a walrus or perhaps a golden jackal or something like that.

I will say I'm happy on behalf of our European friends who have been lacking their key animals for many years now, so I can overlook the fact that this dlc does not really excite me compared to some of the other ones this year.

Finally, I very much do hope we will continue to see dlc, if not active support, all through 2024. If we get a dlc in Spring 2024, it will have been a staggering three years since we will have received a dlc monkey into the game. There are still only 4 monkeys in the entire game, which is one of the few and certainly largest blackspots remaining.

Swans are pretty cool. Would like to see another waterfowl in future.

Animals of Eurasia and the Swan impressed me so much that I forgot to say that I was thinking about updating.

I don’t really understand how Multiselect by Flexicolour will work, but it seems like something convenient)

The souvenir shops are wonderful! I've seen some creators make them, but I wouldn't have the patience for it. In my work, I prefer to make all the buildings myself, how great it is that I will now have a souvenir shop in the park!

New colors of Bengal and Amur tigers? It's just wow! I love it when you do this! I love collecting color morphs! Adding new morphs to old animal species is a great solution!

And yes, I forgot to say about the saiga.. Yesterday I saw not very positive reviews about this species.. It surprised me so much.. It is such a unique animal that I don’t understand how anyone can be upset about it.. Take any antelope that we have.. There are many of them in the game.. Their differences are minimal.. They are all similar.. But here is a completely different animal, it’s just fantastic! I've never seen them in real life, so I can't wait to get a closer look at them in game!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!🤍❄️

On the other Hand I am the opinion this Pack belong to the strongest Packs and fullfils Europe. It also brought new rigs. The Swan is a completely new rig. Together with the Wolverine which potentially also has a new rig and perhaps the Takin you have 3 very unique animals. And honestly it was never more since nearly 3 years (after aquatic Pack). There will be nothing like a crazy evolution anymore. Either because of mechanic issues or the working Investment does not Balance the financial Input. That is the realistic thing to expect. To get a broader choice of current in Game rigs plus 1-2 completely new animals per pack. And complaining about a Gifted Peccary (which technically is Not a Boar) seems Just strange for me. And the Red River Hog was so highly requested and the Wild Boar so Essential for Europe I really do Not mind to get all 3 within a year.
I do Not want to say you must like the pack. But I think the majority of the Forum is comfortable with this Pack. And I really recommend to adjust the expectations (not the hopes, it is a different Thing) to the reality of Packs within the Last 3 years. If you compare it with the Conservation Pack you also had only the Siamang which was completely new (comparable with the Mute Swan). All the remaining animals technically were also Just "Clones".

Edit: And one Thing to calm you down regarding the boars 😃. This was probably the Last one we get within the Game. The Zoo/Wildpark Essentials are all within the Game now. I do not really xpect an oddball pig pick.
