Planet Zoo: Grasslands Animal Pack and Update 1.12.1 Out Now! 🦋

In order from favorite to least:

  • Blue morpho. Always has been, the striking, iridescent blue and black wings against the green, jungle background
  • Monarch. A vibrant orange that we see as beautiful but was actually designed to prevent would be predators to not eat this toxic animal
  • Old World swallowtail. While not neon like the first 2, the colors are just as beautiful
  • European peacock. The orange-briwn wings are pretty, and the "eyes" are very cool
  • Clouded sulphur. I've seen these and never cared too much, but nonetheless it is still a nice yellow color

What is your favorite butterfly from the Grasslands Animal Pack? I think I wil go with the Old World Swallowtail because they are too beauty! 🦋 ✨
Agreed on the old world swallowtail. I've always had a soft spot for them since my grandmother had a large number of magnets of them on her fridge that I'd always play with, so it's easily my favorite here. I like the European peacock a lot too, I just wish it were a bit larger (not trying to suggest this is an issue with the model or anything, I just wish the species itself were larger). The blue morpho is great too, almost too much so - I've already got it as the designated "rare" in my butterfly house, having only half as many as the other species. It just feels like it should be a bit more special.

That said, they're all wonderful. If I had to pick a least favorite, though, it's easily the cloudless sulfur. Sorry cloudless sulfur!

Through all the years and all the updates; the hundreds of animals, thousands of pieces of scenery, new guest mechanics, diving and burrowing, aviaries... when it's all said and done, the single most consequential might just be the bulldozer tool. It is insane how noticeable it is as a QoL addition, and it actually makes PZ feel like a different game.

Favorite update/pack of all time! I spent hours on the diorama mode that I wasn't even too excited when it was announced it turned out way more fun than I anticipated. I love each new species (Striped Hyenas and Maned Wolves especially). The Butterflies are beautiful. The black wolf and is cool although I haven't found one yet...

Bit of an issue with butterflies interbreeding (and they aren't really closely related species AFAIK).

There still are some issues yes.

Another thing is that after research the checkmarks for the enrichment items are empty again after you left and go back in again.

And , I don't know if this is an issue with the scenario , but all of my tourguides and talkers ( most of them have 3 stars) keep staying very tired too.
One has just two animaltalks in a year, staffbuilding is nearby.
And when you don't want to start all the tours at the entrance, the guides most wait way to long for the guests to arrive at the starting point. maybe a tourticket machine can be a solution for that. Then the guests can also buy a ticket near the start of a tour. An option to buy tourtickets at an infoshop would be fantastic too.

But I assume most of the issues will be soloved in a next update. :)

So I've found that it is smart for the first tour stop to be an intermission stop near a staff room, food and drink and loos because both guests and educators inevitably start the tour tired. This solved my problems (at least until frontier updates the mechanism). Also a lifesaver is that now in at least some career scenarios the guest spawned and park entrance are available. They are expensive but once you've built up money it helped so much for me.

Is it possible, that the new bugs after this update/dlc are a lot worse than after the previous ones?
I have massive problems with animals that can now escape from areas where they couldn't before (nearly all of my animals keep escaping all the time although technically they shouldn't be able to)...Most of the animals are dehydrated and starving although there is water and food available for them.
And the staff is quite often unable to reach random habitats (the habitats seem to change quite often).

Hey MarcB! Is this happening after the most recent patch (1.12.2)?
