Planet Zoo: Grasslands Animal Pack arriving 13 December 🦋

Ooooh, not what I expected, but definitely exciting!
I'm sad we didn't get a crested porcupine in this pack either (and for that matter, a baboon, black rhino, secretary,...) but this is a really really nice animal lineup! Phenomenal picks that might have been other animals or not, but still make a very good pack. The wallaby and emu were super necessary, I'm really excited for the striped hyena, always nice to get some small cats,... My biggest criticism is that the blue wildebeest might have been any other kind of antelope, my main exchanges being the blackbuck or nilgai since we don't have any Asian antelope in-game yet. The common eland and impala would have been better animals, in my opinion, too. Still, I won't be the guy who will be sad for ungulates, we never have enough of them!
I was kinda worried when butterfly walkthrough exhibits started being discussed because I was expecting to just get a single species, but you guys blew it out of the park! Very very happy to see mixed exhibits for the game! I really think a lone butterfly species would have been very boring to have.

so i looked up the butterflies, as im most excited for them, here we go!

(couldnt find a good one for just the old world so its all swallow tails)

Conclusion: (Numbers in these are counting for swallow tails in general)
North America 3 (4)
South America 3
Asia 3
Europe 2
Africa 2
Australia 1 (2)
So lets go good cut id say. Only a uniquely afican butterfly is missing

Kind of a big deal are third member of the small cat family( Even though it’s weird including the puma as well and the clouded leopard in the big cat family). The Caracal was definitely my top choice for a small cat species. Hopefully a few more before support ends as well.

In terms of actual classification, cheetahs and cougars (who are each others' closest living relatives along with the jaguarundi) are "small cats" (Felinae) while the clouded leopard is a "big cat" (Pantherinae).

Clouded leopard is like a link between small and big cats. Just barely outside the panthera genus

This is the best pack no doubt, i am going to show you:

12 Animals: The highest of any pack YET, this means potencially larger packs on the future so we can finish that up (like Aviary or maybe even aquarium)

Multiple Species in Walkthrough Exhibit: This means that if we ever get birds, some are going to be very well multispecies animals, maybe no carnivorous ones like raptors but the rest could.

Many highly requested animals added: Maned wolf, Caracal, Emu, Nine Banded Armadillo, a Wallaby, FIVE butterflies, truly a good selection.

No secretary birds: Yep, no secretary bird, it seems they are hanging it for some reason, but i believe, with the butterflies multispecies and no secretary bird, it is guaranteed we will get an aviary pack (to let you know, the secretary bird lives in grasslands and was even more requested than the emu), but another thing to say is that no flying birds were added either.

South American and Oceanian further representation: Oceanian and South America is a third of this pack, and there are 12 animals. Also oceania is only missing one mayor land animal, the Tasmanian Devil, while South America is missing only 2 now, the spectacled bear and a sloth.

Middle Eastern Representation: The Middle east was barely represented, the only animal you could really say was there is the Cheetah, but in less than 2 weeks, you will be able to add the Caracal and the Striped Hyena in your Zoo.

More Burrow Animals: Now, this one is not as important, but when burrows released, they were practically useless. Now, they are one of the best if not the best shelter with small animals, with the armadillo being another addition.

Another Career Scenario: The second one after release, not really important for me, but some people really value this.

That's all, folks, that is why this is the best pack yet.

I always find this naming convention to be quite silly, a big cat is a big cat in my eyes so cheetahs and cougars solidly qualify while clouded leopards don't (as seen on the big cat Wikipedia page). I just prefer to refer to them as felines and pantherines.

Gotta say I really could've done without a second wildebeest and would've much prefered something like the oddity that is the gerenuk. But oh well, we can't have everything and it does look good from what I've seen.

Everything else? Yes, please! Some great choises in there and those butterflies are gonna come in so handy for flower gardens as well :D
