awesome. Finally native Species for my New Zealand Zoo. I bet the Viewing Domes will be especially nice in Enclosures with Prairie Dogs, Meerkats and Lions. Might place those in the still empty Dolphin Tank in my Marine Park. Will be so awesome if I can someday populate it with the desired Animals.
Also nice to get another Flying Fox Species even though something like a Kookaburra would've also been awesome but maybe the Developers have bigger Plans for flying Birds? At least I hope so. Also thanks a lot for the New Zealand Plants. Those will be really useful for me
We've now added the brachiation behaviour for the Bornean Orangutan. They will be able to brachiate using the 1m, 2m, 4m, and 6m Climbable Logs, so you'll be seeing them swinging around in your Zoos in ways you've not seen before!
What about Ropes? I really love it to make Nets and Rope Bridges for my Apes
There are also new colour morphs for the King Penguin from the Aquatic Pack, which are Melanistic, Leucistic, Brown, and Xanthic! We've also added a new Temperate Oceania biome for you to enjoy in all modes.
YES!!!!!!!!!
the Tasmanian Devil looks so amazing. I think I should move my australian Zoo from the normal Dessert to the red Dessert and keep Tasmanian Devils next to the old Thylacine Enclosure. Maybe a Sign between the two Enclosures that contains Information how closely the Species are related to each other
2 birds?? are u sure thats right?
Nice Option to grow my Bird Park
Ahhh yeah! And it's coming out earlier than expected!
I definitely need to look up when the last one got released. They really seem to have improved a lot how fast they can release new DLCs and Updates
Perfect! I mean, almost. There's a quokka in it, but everything else is perfect!
they should've added the Australian Brush Turkey which I really want to keep together with the Red Kangaroo in my New Zealand Zoo
Edit: Also...a new temperate Oceania map? Please mean what I think it means.
A Globe Update would definitely be nice, even if it is just a small one.
Probably mostly for New Zealand but temperate Areas in Australia would also be nice
we got another flying rat tho !!!!!!!!!
lol
A little bummed because I thought it would be a Lorikeet, but another bat is so cool! And I love the kiwi!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like an amazing pack!
If I'm remembering correctly it is only the second one? So I think it's ok, especially because it is such a nice looking and big one. I hope though the next Bat Species (if we'll get a third one) won't be another Flying Fox. Ghost Bat would've also been a cool Option for the Pack
Will the orangutans brachiate on other climbable materials at some point?
Really hope so. Ropes and Vines are a Must have for them
Second fruitbat when there is stuff like budgies and lorikeets right there
Maybe it is because Parrots climb a lot and do lots of Social Stuff. Perhaps they have bigger Plans for them
I cannot express how surreal it is finally seeing them in the game! They look PHENOMINAL!
the little one is so adorable
lol make one with the Baby Tasmanian Devil
Am I really the only one who was absolutely certain it wasn't going to be a lorikeet?
Kea or Kookaburra would've been awesome or maybe Sulfur crested Cockatoo or Palm Cockatoo.
Please Frontier, add Keas. I already have a Aviary for them
it's possible that flying birds will have a more dedicated DLC like the aquatic pack did
Really hope so and that at least some of my Favorites will make it into that one
new plants for oceania!!!! is the best
First pack without a placental mammal at all, in fact
You forgot the Flying Fox
hiiiiiiii
They are unable to use any of the thin climbable pieces, to make this work for them the team had to take a different approach as there are some navigational constraints
Are there some Plans to try to make it possible for them? Would absolutely love it
I wonder if it would be possible to light it up at Night
No I thought bat or possum, I wanted the lorikeet, but was about 96% sure it wouldn't be
A Possum Species would've definitely also been awesome even though I think they would be Habitat Animals. A Species of gliding Marsupial would've also been awesome
I do hope the pack features more than just palm like plants, Oceania and in particular New Zealand feature such iconic flora; like the Kauri and Araucaria heterophylla; love the animals tho! Keep ‘m coming!
The more the better. Really hope so too. Maybe I should restart North Island Conservation Center once they've added temperate Areas in New Zealand
I expected the orchid mantis, actually.
Would've been awesome. I would've loved it if we could've gotten one or two normal Exhibit Animals additionally to the Flying Fox for this one. Tuatara and/or Giant Weta would've been awesome. But a Mantis would of course also be awesome
I just wanna say that I love how they made the Polynesian theme different enough, making it more like a fun Hawaiian/beach style. I didn't think we'd get that, but I'm glad I was proven wrong.
I actually thought about making a beachfront zoo last night, and here we get a theme for it
maybe some of the Pieces would be nice for my Marine Park. I've already managed to make it look somewhat hawaiian due to how I've used the Foliage but this might make it even better
Frontier this is an excellent pack, thank you. I am 100% building this now :

Love it how you plan on making small Islands for the Island Species.
Which one is the Subspecies of Red necked Wallaby we got? If it is Bennetts Wallaby, you could put the Enclosure on the same Island as the Tasmanian Devils
No worries! If the ropes do end up being usable by the orangutans (or maybe some new climbable ropes
), I can see it now...
As is, I'm glad we have what we have! The brachiation looks AMAZING!!!!
View attachment 367025
one Thought I just had: maybe at least the juveniles could already get the Option to use Ropes? It would be adorable
Plus, we also have the November anniversary update
Hopefully again with a new Animal. Luckily my financial Situation might get way better soon and hope that my Computer can be repaired until then because I don't want to miss it again
Anyone else especially excited for the orangutan brachiation addition?? The orangutan is still one of the older models, so I'm managing my expectations. But now I feel like it will actually want to play with it again now that it actually has a unique animation.
Feels like there's an extra habitat animal coming through the update to accompany this pack.
Will make my Breeding Center even more awesome
I'm hoping but there is still chance for the Tree Kangaroo to come to the game some day! but again I'm in love with the pack for reallll
maybe something like a New Guinea Pack might be possible
Sure i would've prefered lorikeets and some other bird other than a penguin
Nice Thing about it though is that we're getting not only one but two New Zealand Animals
I couldn't care less about the kiwi. (Nothing against the animal in itself but there are so many birds we need more than another ratite that is not common in zoos)
Awesome Things about it though:
- it's our first nocturnal Bird
- it's our first burrowing Bird Species (will be disappointed if they won't be able to use the Burrows)
I really wanted to build a mixed penguin exhibit someday and now I doubt we will ever get a 4th penguin
I'd really like the Gentoo Penguin and Adelie Penguin for that
However heated the debates may be regarding the presence of fauna from Europe in the PZ, it is already becoming obvious that the other continents already have their representative animals present in the game. I know, many will jump to argue that there are enough clones for European species and that European species are much too "boring" to be a priority, but as long as for Oceania we have come to have niche species in game, extremely rarely present in zoos other than those in Australia or New Zealand, Europe has no nominal defining species. Wild boar, European brown bear, Wisent, Roe deer, Mouflon, Chamois are emblematic species for Europe, which are present in 99% of zoos in this Continent and cannot be replaced by clones.
It is true that, from time to time, an emblematic animal from Europe has been sneaked into the last DLCs, but, apart from the animals characteristic of northern Europe that it shares with North America, the central area is still poorly represented in the game with distinctly representative species, compared to other continents, even South America. Perhaps only Central and North Asia has such a poor representation in the game. As most of the gamers are from the northern hemisphere, the fascination for niche species from the southern hemisphere is justifiable.
I have not the slightest interest in Polynesian architecture after the Indonesian one, given that such architecture is not present in most zoos in Europe or North America. With the absolutely niche species from Oceania, Frontier is clearly choosing the path of exaggerated exoticism, when a player from Europe still cannot build a local normal zoo with nominally specific species, but only using clones.
It's time for me to leave the game for good.
Really want more european Animals too. If we would at least get the Wild Boar.....
But I think the Decission to stop playing the Game because of it is too hard. Hopefully we'll someday get a european Animal Pack so we both can be happier with the Game. My Wildpark is nice but there's definitely something missing
So relieved we reached 10 birds before support ended. Now let's go for another 10, shall we?
Haven't been this positive-minded about a pack's composition in a long time, even though it was another missed opportunity for a small exhibit bird. But as long as we keep getting more birds one way or another, it is alright I guess.
Well done, Frontier! You did a great job on this one!
Still lots of Options left, even for Birds that don't need to be kept in a Aviary. Still not a single Stork, Waterfowl, Bird of Prey (Secretary Bird, Burrowing Owl), Pheasant or similar Bird
Little blue penguin: Wasnt really dying for another penguin, but as far as a "mandatory clone animal" for an OCE pack this is one of the better ones, weakest member of the habitat roster for me, happy for everyone who wanted them tho. 5/10
I bet all the Players from New Zealand will be really excited
Hard to tell from the short trailer but definetely looks like there are some cool pieces in there, really loving a new rock set.
New Rocks? Awesome. Need to watch the Trailer again. Was too much focussed on the Animals
The sore points once again concern the roster of animals: only 5 for a regional thematic DLC, but I'm used to this by now
I think a australian Animal Pack would've been really great and a New Zealand Scenery Pack
it is definitely not common in zoos
Already wondered how common they are in Zoos and if something like a Wallaroo, yellow footed Rock Wallaby or the very often mentioned Tree Kangaroo would've been a better Choice
Cool, didn't know this Species before. Looks really unique and even though my Park on Hawaii is a Marine Park, it would still be nice to have a small Aviary there with a native Bird Species
and I hope the new map is a real island
as I've wanted a map surrounded by water since the Euro DLC gave us the boat entrance.
Still hoping for additional Options during Map Creation like Coastal and Island Maps. It just looks weird if you want to make a Coastal Zoo and then there's that weird Terrain Border behind the Ocean
Agree. It would be nice if we could get a WE and E Animal in the same Pack. There are still so many Niches to fill.
So far no:
- Crustaceans
- Geckos
- Chameleons
- Fish
- Mantis
- Stick Insect
- Cricket or Grasshopper
- no additional big Snake since Release
- a overall Lack of Lizards
.....
Birds are very likely going to be the main hook for Planet Zoo 2. I can't think of any other reason for the radio silence on them being added to the game now.
It's a decent pack, though I'm more interested in the building pieces than the animals.
really hope that we'll get a Sequel after Support ends and hopefully with better Models for some of the Animals. Not really a big Fan of Stylization in Zoo Games. Find for the Guests due to Performance Issues but Animals and Plants should look realistic
The main problem still remains. We lack variety in types of habitat birds ( no pelican, no duck, no swan, no crowned crane, no storks, no ibis, no spoonbill, no pheasants or other galliformes, and no secretary) and we still haven't got any flying bird.
Absolutely agree. They probably need to improve some Things for flying Birds though
And we are probably going to get another flamingo before any of that lol
Carribean Flamingo please
If not that one, then Dwarf Flamingo
Okay, so they added an animal that is rarely showcased in zoo's, sounds like a good thing to me.
I smell Sarcasm. I love the Addition of the Kiwi and the Tasmanian Devil though. Still way more common than the Proboscis Monkey
Not sure about the Quokka though
I am just really happy with each new DLC they add to the game <3 Even if they add animals I'd never use, or doesn't fit in our 'real life zoo's', remember it's a game! They are meant to be possiblize things that ain't possible in real life, for the sake of fun! Educate yourself about these rare animals, see animals in-game you'd never see in real life! I think that's also part of the fun of Planet Zoo <3
The nice Thing is: you can still use these Animals and keep it realistic. For Example there's a Swamp surrounding my Orangutan Breeding Center which is Home to a Group of Proboscis Monkeys
I'm now thinking that the tree kangaroo is so popular that it could be held back for an eventual islands pack
Along with a manatee, pelican, coconut crab, turtle... I'd say, make it an animal pack for sure (because we've got multiple island themed building sets now) and include the Hawaiian nene, puffin, and why not a Walrus too.
Aboreal Pack would also be nice but after you've mentioned this Roster of Animals I really wish for this one to become a real Pack. The Christmas Island Crab would also be amazing but I also think the Coconut Crab would be great.
due to you not writing a specific Species of Turtle, how about the Kagu instead or the Crested Gecko (in Case that that one was supposed to be the Exhibit Animal, because I can see the Coconut Crab working as a Habitat Animal) or maybe Rhinoceros Iguana
What might also work nicely would be a Species of Anoa or the Sulawesi Crested Macaque which we could keep next to our Babirusa
This is our second "Islands" pack. I don't think we will see another islands pack, not called like that anyway and most likely not from this part of the world again. If we get another Islands pack will probably be Caribbean themed.
Would also be cool
Ah well, if you need another penguin when you already have 2 then anything goes, anything goes...
Additional Penguins are definitely a good Thing because some Zoos keep multiple Species together which is one of the Reasons why I would like a additional antarctic Penguin Species and the Blue Penguin brings some additional New Zealand Representation
This is precisely the point that in my opinion will never make this game grow and develop completely or in any case slow down its growth. Example: if in the next 3 DLCs they introduce another 3 species of penguins, 90% of the people above will write expressions of jubilation and infinite happiness... I mean, are we kidding? Here there are no very popular and necessary birds to recreate a zoo and one has the courage to say that this penguin was necessary... I have no words.
Exactly: I'd love the Gentoo Penguin, the Adelie Penguin and perhaps something like a Rockhopper Penguin
I would always prefer animals that we generally don't have yet, types of regions that are under-represented, under-represented genres, etc...
Release the Fish/Cephalopods/Crustaceans/Ducks!!!!!
(Release the Quacken!!!
)
Source: https://youtube.com/shorts/8tDNsZ4BTYE?si=-576DvhVvKDQtKQl
We will still not get any more birds that are not ratites or penguins.
Fine, I'll do it myself
dyes Penguin brown with a green Head and releases it into a Pond
if an Oceania pack doesn't include lorikeets or budgies, what pack will?
Petting Zoo Pack? I mean you can't really pet them unless you've tamed them yourself and even then it might not work but they would fit relatively well due to being Pets
A birds pack could have 'em :>
Still hoping for one and that it will be bigger than usual so we can for Example get multiple Macaw Species, multiple Vultures, Eagles, Owls....
But that also means.... why no ground hornbills, why no Pelicans, Swans, Ducks, pheasants, etc etc
Of course. I would rather have them flying. And I'm eager to have Eagles ans Owls and Macaws and such. But by this point I'm rather desperate and would cry happy tears for a freaking standard duck.
Exactly. If we can't have even a single Fish, at least give us some Ducks, Geese or other Waterfowl. Ponds still feel so lifeless
Another problem is that following Frontier's DLC release style we will never have a dedicated pack just for them, so necessarily (if they arrive) we have to wait for them 1 at a time per DLC.
I would also like to underline that personally I am not a lover of birds, I like some for their sounds and colors such as parrots, toucans... but I consider them fundamental for the development and completeness of the game. The only one that I'm almost certain to see, still following the Frontier indications, is some type of macaw, because in the game there is a poster that depicts it and given that it was the same for other animals previously...
I was excited when I first saw the Announcement Trailers for the South America Pack and the Oceania Pack (the first one) because I thought we would get Macaws and Kookaburras due to the Sounds at the End
Frontier seems to like spectacled animals lol
A Employee with Glasses who wants more Representation lol
I always teach my animals to stay off the drugs!
Confiscating Centipedes from the Lemur Enclosure
Quell the Quokka has to obey these rules. Otherwise I will sell it to the circus!!11
lol
I think we’ll get flying and marine animals in Planet Zoo 2
really hope so
Although he has a chocolate milk addiction that should be checked...
can Marsupials even have Chocolate? So many Animals that it's poisonous too
Ah yes. Fortunately, Quell doesn't really drink in the 1st place. Although he has a chocolate milk addiction that should be checked...
Actually, this does bring up an interesting idea: zoos serve alcohol in their restaurants/bars, but this is obviously a family friendly game. How would y'all feel if we got new kiosks and the like that served non-alcoholic drinks, like sangría and piña coladas? I think that it totally fits the vibe of this pack, to be honest
We really need more Shops and I'm still hoping for them to finally add the remaining Shops from Planet Coaster, especially because they would fit absolutely perfect into some of my Zoos.
Also would love to serve my Guests Cocktails
(off topic) i was searching tasmanian devil exhibits and came across this article from 2014
"A Tasmanian devil crawled into his enclosure and died after a visitor crushed him with a block of asphalt at the Albuquerque Zoo in New Mexico. With no surveillance cameras at the devil exhibit, law enforcement probably won’t find the killer."
What the Hell? Really hope they'll somehow find out who did it. Just disgusting, evil and psychopathic
Like Australia and New Zealand for example…
And Central Europe
and not feel like I have to leave open space for hopeful additions.
and then they'll release Quolls and Tree Kangaroos
