🐾 Planet Zoo: Southeast Asia Animal Pack arriving 30 March 🐾

Give them a bit time for the Binturong, I’m not sure they made extra time during the week end to make it
Also, I would prefer they take the time needed to make retakes instead rush it before the release. In my opinion, I think we’ll see the new Binturong after the release.

As I've already said, they should take as much Time as they need. Don't know how long they normally need for modeling. Just said it would be nice to see a Work in Progress Picture if they are still working on it

Yeah, no rush on the binturong! Just acknowledging that it will be revisited is all it took for me to be perfectly satisfied. I'm certainly not expecting anything to happen before release, and in fact I kind of don't expect it to happen until the next wave of DLC hits after this one.

I'm not expecting it to be fixed before early Tuesday morning, which is when the pack will be released. I'd rather they take their time and make sure it's done right. Besides, YouTube creators have already gotten their key codes, so they'll be using the old binturong for the time being anyways. I just hope it doesn't take toooo long, like more than a week and a half.

Agree, I won't be surprised if the pack release has the same model we've seen. We know they're looking into it and I feel confident that's not just corporatespeak and they're really going to adjust it. It may be a few days after the release. I understand if those who are invested in this animal hold off on buying until they see the final result - absolutely their right. With the clouded leopard and the amazing work on the babirusa, dhole and sun bear, I'll be enjoying it right away.

I know the conversation shifted off this but my personal hope/ expectation for the DLC schedule is (Kind of wishful thinking)

2021:

March: Asia (Animal)
August: Europe (Both)
December: Aviary (expansion higher price? hopefully....)

2022:

March: Africa (Animal)
August: North America (Both)
December: Marine/ Aquarium (Expansion higher price? same as aviary)

I stuck to 3 a year even though I really wish they'd do more per year or do mini animal drops throughout the year

I wonder if we’ll have an update on the Binturong changes prior to release so people know what the plan is with it before purchasing? Part of me wonders if the team did work over the weekend to fix it as a last minute push but the other part appreciates it may take much longer. Would be great to just understand how they’ll be going about it. So curious.

Chante's comment said: some time to review it - so I'm guessing no.
Even if they announce they will fix certain parts, we don't know how that will look.
If they change it, people still don't like it - doubt they will revisit it twice. Enough time to do it properly is the right thing to do, rushing usually means a "hotfix"

If some people are holding back solely based on the appereance of the Binturong, they will probably wait.

I really can't say were we stand with the Binutrong. On the one hand, I can see them work over the weekend on the animal, to have the fixed model ready uppon release. I don't really know if it will take them very long, to be honest.
On the other hand, I can see them releasing them via a patch in a week or two.

The third option, and that would not be a good move in my opinion, they will release it with Update 1.6, just like they take their time with deep diving of other animals.

What's odd: The forums is the only place where they communicate the fix. No statement on social media, so they COULD push back the fix for very long, without a lot of their customer base even noticing it. Nit saying they'll do it, as I said, I can't really say were we stand.

All I know is, that they should be extra careful now, to not risk the storm blowing up again when they just fix the ears.

can someone explain, how to unlock the golden/silver/bronze animal sculptures? are there sculptures for any animal in game or just for the orang-utan in the screenshot?

You will be able to get every Statue that is shown when you select the Career-Mode Scenarios. It would be awesome if every Animal would have a Statue but it's still a big Collection of Statues you can get. You need to finish the Scenarios to get all of them. If you've already finished them, you will get them automatically when the Update is released

Most Career Mode-Levels and the Timed Scenarios should show you an animal statue on the map in the main menue. These are the statues you get with the specific level /scenarion.

If you score Silver, you get the silver statue, if you score gold, you get gold and silver. Stone should basically be available for everyone right at the start, to my knowledge. Any progress made prior to the update will transfer over, meaning if you already did a level, you'll get the statues right with the update, without needing to play again

For timed scenarios -> yes (for the Kangaroo and Penguin you would need the Australian and Aquatic DLC respectively).
For career scenarios, you ned to unlock them. Meaning, you need to play the previous scenario at least to Silver to unlock the following scenario.
So if you haven't played any career scenario, you would only have the stone statue corresponding to the first scenario.

Well I immediately uploaded a screenshot of what Chante said about reworking the model onto the PZ reddit and it got 600+ upvotes, so actualy impressions of people who saw it would be much higher. I also know several creators made videos specifically about it, or at least mentioned it. And it was all over multiple community discords as well. If we're talking about a casual player who is very disconnected, no they won't know, but there are some people who didn't even know the full roster of animals until a few days ago, so yeah. I think a lot of people will be aware vs won't be.

Inofficial sources are vocal, that's right. Still I find it odd to choose not to spread the news via social media from an official side. As much as I love forums, they are oudated, unfortunately.
