🐾 Planet Zoo - Update 1.11 coming 18 Oct 🐾

Rub it in you monster
I'm dreading it. Thanks to increasingly dire climate change this summer is set to be the hottest on record. It's going to be awful.

Winter and autumn are my preferred seasons. Much easier to get warm than it is to get cool. Much easier to keep pets and babies warm than it is to keep them cool. Not to mention, no sandflies or mozzies in the winter, and no hayfever. The warm seasons suck.

Amazing upcoming update, exhibit animals will feel even better gameplay wise. I do really hope you do more animal variants, even the duller of animals could use a few details to distinguish them from others. Albinism/leucitic/melanism/piebald can also be a tad different in terms of tones. I hope you also consider updating older models and animals to match the newest ones (Lions and Wolves would benefit alot from this) .Thank you again, I'm really happy we getting more stuff in the animal department.

Educator exhibit demonstrations: Wonderful addition! Glad exhibit animals have more of a purpose now than just sitting in a glass tank.
Customizable exhibit backdrops: I think I'll always prefer the 3D backdrops, but still an excellent feature.
Exhibit population management: I play on sandbox most of the time so this doesn't really affect me, but still really glad to see it.
Exhibit camera improvements: YES PLEASE! It's so hard to zoom in on the exhibit animals without individually selecting one. Love, love, LOVE this change.
Biome skirts: Very nice. This will give our backdrops some excellent variety.
Ramp terrain stamp: Paths are often finicky when it comes to slopes, so I welcome this.
Piebald patters: More realism in our animal patterns is always welcome.
Escapes: Again, I play on sandbox most of the time and have escapes disabled, but still a nice quality of life change.
Speaker music additions: Those Sounds of Summer tracks are lovely, so hearing them in game will be great!
This is gonna be an excellent update, I can already tell!

Okay. Fair enough.
I'm lucky with no allergies(knock on wood) and no babies as of yet.
I have a husky who loves cold weather as much as I hate it. I live in Chicago area. It's already getting down to freezing during the night, and it's not getting any better for the next 5 months.
Looks like we both could use some good luck coming up.

These changes are really great, I am a little sad that while this appears to be an exhibit tlc we didn't get exhibit size variants (smaller boxes) so we could have more design freedom and the ability to see the exhibit animals better.

An excellent update. Especially remembering that the patch notes always surprise us with additional items (some of which get the community even more excited than the ones that are advertised!) And don't forget that often times something that is introduced in a limited way ends up getting expanded later on.

I'm most excited about the piebald additions, because my play style is to manage the color variations as if they were subspecies (or sub-subspecies), So for me, this means that I get three new animals, confirmed!

I also love that the exhibits are getting so much love. I love the small creatures and tend to manage mine much more closely than a lot of other players seem to (and have gotten quite good/fast at it as a result). So for me these features won't be so much about usability or autopilot, but will rather add a whole new level of strategy and enjoyment to this part of the management game, with different strategies being employed depending on the details of the exhibit species, whether they have color morphs that I'm watching for, which ones need help with their stats, and making sure that I don't end up in a situation with a very old male and a very young female (or vice versa), such that the breeding ends up getting derailed over time.

This is new

I'm not sure that they meant this to be new, but rather acknowledging that the exhibit animals work differently in the different modes. In franchise the exhibits are limited to cash sales, and I don't think they're saying that will change. But I think in (at least some of?) the other modes you can trade them in for either cash of cc.

YES! So excited about this update, and eeeally hope it means my favourite animals are coming...raccoons and red foxes! Couldn't be more excited :D

Thank you devs for giving us automated exhibit populations, it's amazing how well you listen to us :)

Sounds like an interesting update but I wouldn't really need the new escaping behaviour.
I'm not entirely sure what is meant with the new biome skirts? Does this mean we can use the textures of other biomes in the biome we build the zoo in (like using the tropical dirt in a temperate biome)?
