🐾 Planet Zoo - Update 1.11 coming 18 Oct 🐾

Im so excited for Piebald animals and the new behaviours! also ramps will make things a lot easier aswell!
Though i hope the Peafowls and Moose will both get updates to Piebald in a future update?
but also super duper excited for an exhibit update, it was very long overdue.

Weird how much everybody loves this update, but i feel kinda iffy on it.
Dont get me wrong, i like all the features, i believe all of them to be good to great changes, but nothing that really has any impact on the gameplay besides the great exhibit animal management update, which has no effect on sandbox but is still quite cool.
Having a new rare mutation is cool, but we all know that we will never see them in sandbox, but very promising for the future.
Map backgrounds are awesome, but not usable in older zoos.
New animal behaviours are allways a great addition and knocking over trash cans is both funny and a creative way for non bloody chaos, but the animals shouldnt escape in the first place + i really disagree with the not getting sick part.
Imo the injury and illness system could really use an overhaul to be more impactfull and more ways to get sick.

And the exhibit changes while great dont solve the big problem of them being bad building pieces and just not very fun to use.
If anything the educator talks makes me want free placeable exhibit animals even more, because they finally made their first steps out of the ugly boxes.

So while i agree that its an overall really great update, its a small bummer that besides the ramps and imo great, but not the problems of the exhibits adressing changes theres nothing for older sandbox zoos to be found here.
Ofcourse not every Update is for everyone and this time older sandbox zoos got the short end of the stick.
So yeah while there isnt a lot of stuff in this update for my zoo, i can for sure recognise that especally goung forward this update will age like fine wine and just get better and better the more exhibits, the new morph and escapes are expanded one, aswell just starting new zoos with the backgrounds so hopefully in a year or so, i will also see this as one of the best updates for the game

" but we all know that we will never see them in sandbox" tell that to all my albino animals and other variations in my sandbox zoos, it isnt as hard anymore to get them in that mode :D

Overpopulated Exhibits made me stop breeding/ switch to sandbox, so really happy to see this update. To all PZ/Frontier Staff - Many thanks for all your great work and keeping this game alive! Still not bored with it and since release my favourite game.

What a pleasant surprise. My favorite parts of the update are the new backgrounds, and the exhibit talks. Also really happy we can use the SoS in our zoos.

See you all in the stream! ❤️

I'm with you. Gotta be really honest but this feels kinda underwhelming to me compared to other updates we had in the past and after such a long wait no less.

There's nothing in it that has me really excited for it. The exhibit updates are cool and certainly needed, yeah, but it's still just a box you place and then forget with little you can do to customize it as far as interior goes. Animals throwing bins around seems fun but yeah, since they shouldn't escape in the first place and I make sure they don't I won't really be seeing any of that anyway, some more social interaction or guest interactions in walkthroughs would've been way more exciting imo.

The ramp tool is pretty much exactly what we can already do perfectly fine and fast with the regular stamp tool+advanced move, create ramps to connect different terrain levels. And the new color morph looks good and I love seeing more variation but then I saw that it seems to only apply to not even a handful of animals and yeah, not so great anymore and I really hope more animals get it in the future. The other stuff is nice for looks and a change of scenery at least, but again nothing that really adds to the gameplay with new mechanics.

Was really hoping for a bit more, something like playgrounds maybe to add a new layer to guest needs/management but well, maybe next time.

Still appreciate all the work that goes into the game and I'm glad so many seem to be happy with this update as well, it's just not really my cup of tea this time around.

Could we get some clarification re: Sounds of Summer?

When you say it's DMCA-free, do you mean only if used during a Planet Zoo stream/video, or in general?

I’m really happy with these new features
I puked have liked it if they could have revealed these features over the course of last week as some sort of filler before livestream and probably tomorrows big reveal.
I can’t wait to get my iguanas out of the exhibit.
I got some ideas for backgrounds in my exhibits, in paticular my NA zoo. I have my exhibits in front of a mural that looks like dioramas of areas of NA.
I wonder if escaped carnivores can attempt to eat a guest.

Need to catch up now!

The map skirt thing is an important one! This alone ranks this update up high for me. A shame I can't change it in existing maps, but that is quite how I expected it to be anyway.

Nice to see some new life in the exhibits, but I hope you are not done with them yet.
Besides the obvious size variations we all want, I would like to have seen options to change the biome for species with several biomes listed.
Also being able to select and delete objects I have placed inside of exhibits without having to delete the whole box would be very useful.

Looking forward to seeing how the new terrain stamp works. Could turn out very useful!

From what I understand, you can use it for PZ streams/videos, but it's not okayed for general use.
