Planet Zoo - Update 1.2.5 available now!

Isnt it kinda contradictory to say they are the only devs not releasing anything and on the other hand they are`just cash grabbing with this game?

Thank god Frontier isn't like "every other game developer out there".

That's one bold statement to make. Do you accuse them of being a fraud?

LoL sorry but did you read my post? xD
I dont accuse anyone of anything, i just think its funny that i had this strange feeling about this game not beeing that good and oh lets see: beta was about 2 weeks long and 1 month before release, content was ripped out of base game to sell for deluxe edition, First DLC dropped about 1 month after release. For me thats all bad signs i need to know a game is not going anywhere. Im sorry but this is just not up there with what they delivered in planet coaster.

No its not. They released a broken game with 3 DLC's, for me thats quickl cash grab. lets not even mention that actually most of the game and assets where already there from planet coaster.

I didnt have issues after the release so the game wasnt broken for me. Sorry for everyone having problems after the launch, but today most of all games have issues for some players after the release. But you never hear about the players without issues - cause they arent complaining. After some updates i had some smaller issues too, but all of these problems and issues have been fixed. Could have been faster, but i prefer a good solution compared to a fast and bad one.

And about DLCs: its a topic for itself. On the one hand we want the devs to support the game for a while, on the other hand were complaining about paying for this. If the content is good and worth it, i like to support the devs by paying for some dlcs. In my opinion there could be some more animals in the dlcs for the regular price, but theyve already been in sale too, so theres been a chance to get them even cheaper.

Talking about cash grabbing in this case is further a question about do we want the devs to keep on support the game and bring new content. One thing i think thats right: The lack of information is really sad and it seems to be time for some new content.

To get back on-topic. I'm sure we'll get a update soon.

I sure hope so, but we are at a point of time and silence where I have no idea anymore how much things have slowed down for them and how much timing is messed up.I check the forums every day now for news and feel like we should have heard something about three weeks ago, if everything was fine. Now? I sometimes worry we won't hear anything before september.

I also dont understand how some players are only now getting worried about the state of the game or its future. It was clear since planet zoo beta that this game was going to be a cash grab with no real love or content :/

I get you, but I also get how games are made. And what sort of awful time we're having in this working from home situation. There are shortage on machines, on basic equipment, forget about mass production of studio-worth computers, VPN overusage etc... that's what happened here and we saw it coming, so probably worst in London.

One marketing mistake, too early launch date or bad inhouse beta-testing, can really hurt a launch, but it's not fatal, not always...

On the other hand, I don't feel there’s ''no real love for the content'' - on the contrary. I have found all animals and scenery to be perfectly executed. Creative team really rocks. I feel bad for them, they have done excellent work. From concept to execution, the content and assets are excellent.
Ui team wasn't done tho, UI still feel like a unit testing demo, as if long haul testing from a user perspective was never done (closing a management window for every operation is an example of what a unit-testing demo feels like, it feels like salesman-version of the real thing).

Anyway, I pay attention to the forum, see patches and stuff. Even opened the game to make some statues in sandbox. Building system is working ok, less snappy and efficient than planco, but still working fine. Animals and scenery pieces are magnificent... but the game mechanics and UI are not up to par to the creative side of the game and feel unfinished and buggy. Light is still an issue (while we see UE5 demo with super fancy light renders, we get a buggy barely working one in cobra :( - texture errors and bad loads) Some bugs have been roughly patched (like the track ride still don't work properly but was fixed by despawning customers at relaunch of the game) instead of taking the rides out and fixing it for real.

So... ya... I am worried quite a bit. But mostly... sad. Making a game is not that easy… even with good programmers, good artist, not that easy.
