Planet Zoo | ZooKeepers Animal Pack Announcement

Clearly the sifakas' movement while climbing is off judging by that picture. That can't really be a matter of the angle. And this animal feels like a bad choice, if they can't deal with it's unique animations.

But some of the other criticism of these animals I see, seems a bit over the top to me.

I get that there are stuff here that could be better, but I still feel like most is at least 2022 quality and that's fine. I don't get this need for models to improve with every DLC. It is impressive yes and pleasing to look at. But every time a pack brings in animals that feels like the best yet, it expands the list of those that feels outdated and not enjoyable to use anymore. Right now the African Leopard is the only big cat you really want to play with based on quality, and that is a bad choice for a standalone big cat.

Planet Zoo's replayability is going to last longer if every animal was 2022 quality over some being 2019, some 2020, some 2022 and some late 2023. And then we of course got some so bad they don't even fit a time period.

I can live with mistakes that feels like someone tried their best but just couldn't get every detail quite right. I have a much harder time with mistakes that feels like lazy decisions, bad research or just not caring enough. The sifaka climbing feels like it belongs here. While an animal like the Pallas cat to me looks like someone tried their best.

I was planning on putting sifakas in my next zoo due to the lack of New World monkeys, but...

I'm sure this has been said already, given the 10 or so pages since the screenshot, but I cannot wrap my head around this decision.

"Hey, Bob, we're brainstorming animals for the final pack. Any ideas?"

"Oh, hey Steve. Well, based on community input on the forums, on Reddit threads, YouTube comments, Steam, I think we should maybe do a squirrel monkey or a howler. The howler could even use those neat chorus behaviours we gave to the wolves and siamangs!"

"Great idea, Bob. I'm sure that'll make a lot of people happy! Now, make a sifaka."

"A-A what? A sifaka? But we're so close to deadline..."

"It's just a lemur, how hard can it be?"

Poor old Bob managed to make it jump, but that's about it.

IMO based on that tiny clip, the jumping will be their main locomotion on the ground, but I'm expecting them to use climbable objects like a lemur.
It should still be accurate. Given they had about three extra months to work on the pack it I'm surprised the level of detail isn't higher.

Well they were likely a skeleton crew plus it looks like the people that did the incredible fur last year have been fired as not a single one of the new animals comes close to the Sloth bear or Porcupine or Wisent from a fur standard

“Hey, Bob”

“Steve?”

“Do you know how we have been making birds, and people ask us constantly to make more birds, and on our official forum there are cyclical conversations about birds, and even multiple dedicated threads to birds?”

“Yeah?”

“Hey, Bob”

“Yeah?”

“No birds in the next dlc”

“Oh, thank god. I can finally make another antelope!”

'Hey Bob, you know how South America is a really biodiverse continent'

'Yeah Steve'

'Bob you know how South America has less habitat animals than Europe'

'Yeah'

'Bob the people want more South American animals, there are so many unique primates, birds, rodents and oddballs try and get at least one in the next pack or they will go insane'

'Steve the best I can do for you is another Bear'

All of them, except the bear, look wrong or half fineshed or like someone mentioned, like they belong to early packs rather than the latest ones. The fur on the male baboon looks nothing like the beautiful mantle they have in real life over their shoulders, the male markhor face looks weird (eyes too big, too cartoony) and when you compare it to the mod that was made long ago you can see the clear difference in quality (with the mod looking better), the cat is just a cartoon, face looks nothing like a true Palla's cat and now the sifaka... which yeah i'll refrain to commenting more on it until seeing it ingame.

I'm sure the tortoise will look great though lol
The mod being better is a crazy statement
