I've just got the new pack and started the Frontier Zoo scenario.
What a beautiful map. You guys at Frontier did a crackin' job.
I love the Cambridge inspiration.
And I let out a little chuckle when I saw the park entrance was basically Frontier Studios. Nice touch. And so fitting as an entrance as that is literally where Planet Zoo started.

Agreed, it is a really fun scenario and the map looks great. At least we know where are those animals listed as originated from “Frontier Zoo” come from. That was a really clever idea for a career campaign.

"In height, takin stand 97 to 140 cm (38 to 55 in) at the shoulder, but measure a relatively short 160–220 cm (63–87 in) in head-and-body length, with the tail adding only an additional 12 to 21.6 cm (4.7 to 8.5 in)"
"Markhor stand 65 to 115 centimetres (26 to 45 in) at the shoulder, are 132 to 186 centimetres (52 to 73 in) long"

Dude, I'm from the country where the takin is native. I agree with your shoulder height data, but the takin is much more robust. Large males can grow up to 300 kg, which is almost three times the weight of the largest markhor . This is not reflected in the game at all.

I don't know how tall the human reference in this picture is. I assume he is 1.8 meters tall, so the height of a male markhor's horns could be close to 2 meters?

I believe Frontier once again might have used the shoulder height as the full height of the back.

My former local zoo had both species and I don't see anything wrong with their sizes. Of course it's possible that some individuals of takin are much larger, but on average the models in game seem right to me.

The lack of a scale bar is annoying yeah, but assuming the markhor is around the maximum shoulder height of 1.15 metres this guy would be well below 1.8 metres haha. It was the only comparison image I could find though. Still, from everything I’m reading about the difference in shoulder height between the two (max of 1.15m for markhor and 1.4 for takin) the height difference between the two in-game seems fairly close to what it should be? The takin has higher shoulders than the markhor (of course the way the markhor is leaning downwards while the takin is leaning upwards in the screenshot you posted could be affecting my perception though).

dude, I just want to tell you that when the game allows these two animals to be raised together, I tried it in the game today and found out how ridiculous it is. This is not directed at any individual.

I continue to post a few comparison pictures. Regarding the takin, some cubs and females are indeed not very big, but please note the male on the far right. (I believe the physique difference between the two female keepers is not that big)

Yep, I've now seen it in-game myself and takin is most definitely taller. The difference in shoulder height looks accurate to me based on what is given in measurements (both these individuals have a 42% size gene).
