Plasma weapons uses?

i would pair it with Kinetic weapons.

i'm rolling an Executioner Grade 3 with increased stability mod, Grade 3 Kinetic SMG, Grade 3 laser pistol.

1 shot of the executioner will remove shield, if the engagement allows it, second shot it's a granted kill, if not, the kinetic SMG will chew through armor in no time.
 
I've been looking at that plasma pistol. Is it worth pairing with a laser rifle?
The pistol, by virtue of being plasma, is all purpose. No need to break shield (or HP) with another gun for another role. I pair it with a shotgun or my g3 kinetic AR (G3 compensate for the penalty on shield to some extent).

Still kinetic is better simply because if you miss a few and run out of ammo, your target is likely to be out of shield.

yeah I noticed since i put my laser rifle to level 2, it's cutting thru shields much faster, right now on my dominator suit i'm going with the grenade launcher, laser rifle and kinetic pistol. only the laser rifle is level 2 atm

Confirmed this is a valid strategy but it only falls down when you're in a bind and have to reload and switch back when their shields just come back up at a bad time.

I'd say that's a decent time to have the tormentor.

I just roll with dual executioners. Go big or go home I say.

Going to add that I think fdev have done OK with initial balancing here. Only the TK laser pistol is rubbish and most weapons do fine in their niche (oppressor is a bit flimsy though).

Nothing is op. Not yet anyway (still need to see all engineers).

I believe that damage output is fine. Not yet unlocked the engineers (i'm on it) but i do hope that the attachment are utilities and perks that do not influence the damage. So far i got some effect out of RNG luck, namely: Greater Range (G2 AR-50 assault rifle), Increased Stability (G3 Executioner Sniper), increased sprint (G2 Dominator suit).

None of them point towards a new weapon meta. That's fine in my personal opinion
 
The Plasma sniper is my go-to. Even without engineering, it can hang in High Intensity Combat Zones. The Shotgun is good too, but only if you have good shields. The Assault Rifle is OK. My bet is that its monster once you engineer it.

I'm biased, but I'm a big fan of either CQC pounders like the plasma pistol, or medium-range weapons like the rifles; sniper rifles and low-mid range weapons like the carbines/shotgun don't do it for me (certain shotguns yes, but not the plasma one), so my usual battle loadout is Laser Rifle, Kinetic Rifle, Plasma Pistol. TBH though I'm not a massive fan of the kinetic rifle... but the carbine is outdone by the plasma pistol for me as well.

Got a “stable” play session of 1 CZ round and first tried the executioner and love to blast them in the face with it after stripping the shield. Havent tried the sniper yet.

How do you get a scope? Is it an engineering mod?
 
After some test, plasma weapons are not my fit, i find them extremely garbage in all posible ways, its much faster to use TK and then switch :S
 
I keep the plasma shotgun on my Maverick suit.
When scavenging a settlement I go about my business, if anyone comes to me and asks questions: BLAM!
And then I politely acknowledge: "Yes?"
 
I've been playing further with the plasma weapons. The tormentor handgun is starting to grow on me as well. Still, not a fan of the oppressor for some reason.

The sniper rifle is still awesome. The shotty is devastating if you run up to an enemy's face and pull the trigger and the handgun completes the outfit lol
 
The Oppressor plasma rifle isn't that great at G1. A G2 version is good enough for low CZ enemies, but I wouldn't rely on it due to its low projectile velocities. Best thing to do is grab an Extended Range mod for it to correct this and upgrade it to G5. It's growing on me and I love the 50 round magazine that seemingly lasts forever, though I still liken it to a Nerf Ball Blaster.

The Executioner is my current go-to in mid-range engagements. I have a G3 un-Engineered one and am starting to reliably hit targets at longer ranges (~100m and above - assuming the targets stand still, which they really like to do, along with running straight at me).

The Tormentor has a decent damage output, but a rather off-putting fire rate. I was expecting something along the line of Destiny 2's 120 RPM High-Impact hand cannon archetype, but the Tormentor's rate of fire is lower than that. Probably somewhere around 70 RPM.

Haven't used the shotgun yet, as I just use the Executioner as a shotgun if anyone gets close or switch to the Tormentor / Oppressor.
Hey, does this "Extended Range" increase the projectile velocity on plasma weapons?? Thanks!
