"Players in uproar over Elite Dangerous: Odyssey's bugs and poor performance" - PC Gamer article

I know... but maybe some people will notice this outside "alarm signal" more and not judging us only as some old bored forum dwellers. I still see a lot of people praising EDO and just saying that the bugs will be solved in a couple of weeks, as if the bugs are the only things wrong in Odyssey.

At least for myself, the only somehow decent thing in Odyssey was the on foot tutorial. But when I saw what they did to the Dav's Hope planet (I was there at the launch), I suddenly felt the need to go back to Horizon. Not only they moved the site to the dark side of the planet (tidally locked), but the terrain around is way worse that it ever was in Horizon. For other things, I tried not to judge by the Alpha, but the release is more or less the same. I've spread most of my negative thoughts about EDO on different threads here, so I will stop, for now.

Its called "really-really-bad-press" and it will only get worst from here if FD doesn't fix the game it has sold as an finished product and at 'full price', I pre-ordered the deluxe version but haven't downloaded it yet and glad I didn't and I'm hoping I can get a refund, its really sad this will hurt them for years to come I think if they ever want to sell pre-orders again or anything "ED" IMO.

An uproar can be ignored if it's localized on the forums 😉

Ed has never had a " good launch" just more or less angry people, you should of seen the engineer launch lol

This is the first I have heard of such a hullabaloo.

(Obviously it isn't, I just wanted to write hullabaloo again!)
I called the astronauts aboard the ISS, they told me they didn't heard either. Also they were rather angry at me calling them about that, and how did I get that number, etc etc, but I thought it was less relevant. Oh and I'm on the CIA watchlist now. I swear, some people...

Lol! Although I do admire you pushing home the most relevant point to those astronauts - they should have known really.

Off line version, oh my oh my.....
To be fair many of the people who that particular snaffoo upset had laid out up to £200 on Kickstarter on the promise of a single player offline experience, i know that was their (my) choice but it does explain why emotions were running so high, and it wasn't all about being anti PvP, i live on a boat for instance, games with always on connection requirements are a pain in the if you don't WANT any online features and have intermitant or unstable internet.

edited to add that is currently a server transaction error that is booting me from the game every couple of minutes these days, so again problems I didn't need.

So much negativity instead of seeing that they are human, mistakes happen and they are going to fix whats wrong.. give them time they are just doing what they are told and the jobs they are told to do.. You cannot get mad at them for listening to there boss and wanting to keep there jobs. I am sure FDev is aware of the launch and how its not well recieved... I for on am liking it but then again i got a top end system.. so if you are going to just be negative more and more then guess what they LESS you will enjoy it for what it is for.... a game that has bugs but will get worked out.. if you do not like that then you by all means can go back to horizons or... a diff game. either way they are trying there best...

The devs at the bottom who works hard, do the crunch (which was basically admitted by Braben in the launch livestream), and pour their heart into it ? yeah I have a lot of respect. The management who say "release it" despite not being ready for a quick buck ? Sorry sir, I don't have any kind of respect left.

Sadly, it's always the devs at the bottom who takes the flak, from both sides. Life is unfair.
