Please add a 'Dummy Animal' for habitat building

Hello -
A) having a great time.
B) i could be missing a easier way to do this...

Biggest challenge/drag i'm running into is building these great habitats that look smooth and traverse-able - only to find my intended animal cant reach anywhere once it gets in.
Also trying to dial in the navigable land, water, brush type etc for a species when designing a detailed habitat seems to basically require putting that animal in the unfinished habitat and then finishing it around the animal.

Could you add a 'dummy animal' option where you can pick any combo of SpeciesXSize specimens to place in a habitat under construction so that we can make sure everything in the habitat will work as intended? They would just need to be static outlines that you can click on to see all the things in the normal animal welfare panel + radar:
Traverseable Area, Shelter, Terrain Type Suitability, Plant Coverage, Space, etc.

That would be awesome!
Thanks,
Derp.

I actually like that idea. Not sure if it can be done, but that would really make it so much easier to check the habtitat and finish it off without the animal being stressed out by a bad habitat. XD

Currently what I do is, I put an animal in, pause the game, build around it and unpause every once in a while for the animal to calculate if it is happy now only to pause it again and continue on.

Good idea. Let's add a dummy keeper as well, to see if he is actually capable to clean and feed everywhere in the habitat :)
You got a like (y)

Seconded. I don’t like the idea of having to have the animal before knowing what to build for it. I have the problem of building huge habitats too and wasting a lot of space... it’s silly that you would bring the animal in before you’re prepared for it.
I like the idea of a statue or something; I think that would be a really simple way to implement this.

This would be nice to see the traversable terrain. I've thought of a similar idea before, too, but instead of a dummy animal, can you just designate the habitat as being for X species and then the game will tell you the traversable terrain.

I like it!
Maybe just add a drop down menu in the heat map. Instead of clicking on a animal. Just choose one from a drop down. Like the same drop down in the trade center. Wouldnt need a "dummy" then. Just choose what is going to be walking around in it, and get the traversable terrain from that.

YES!!! Exactly :D

Definitely easiest way to do it...drop down on the habitat menu..

How about we have a website with habitats fully customed for our animals, and one even more beautiful than the other. Oh wait, we download it from Steam, and all we have to do is place the animals in :D

I love this idea!
Personally I don't need it for the regular habitat planing (plants, ground textures) but I would love to use this to plan for larger herd sizes. Often I start with only 3 animals but plan to have 20 or so after a few generations of breeding. Then I realize that the habitat is too small or does not have enough shelter. Having this idea implemented would fix this issue.
