Please dont nerf the AI anymore.

It seems like the AI is suffering a lot from the Power Distributor nerf.

This may explain the not shooting back issue some players are experiencing, they may not have enough power to do so.

So one portion of the community has to compromise, they other does not? Please. This isn't logical.

Yet that was what was going on ALL last week.
Someone had to compromise, or in a term some players here only seem to understand... Git Gud. And now that the shoe is on the other foot it's a crime against God.
I was coming around to the new AI, but I wasn't forgiving anyone for the "Git gud" remarks. So with that in mind, I may get myself a "Becomez Bad!" t-shirt printed... ;) Fly (really) safe! 07

Have to admit I have not been to a res or cz but elite ranked missions are still just as diffucult as they were yesterday. Try an elite ranked salvage mission, you better scoop fast and have a destination targeted or you won't make it out undamaged.
Forget about trying to fight, 5 elite ships of any size will light you up in a hurry.

Amazing the combined fire power of 5 ships, scary.

Guess I need to try some combat and see for myself. Love to see a video of this ai behavior fom a mission npc cause I'm not seeing any non shooting ai.

Why don't you try a build that is really weak. Post your build and maybe we can help you find something that will be a little more challenging.
I hate having to place restrictions on myself to get any challenge out of a game. I immediately strike points off a game if I'm reduced to self-imposed restraints. With 2.0, I piloted several majorly gimped ships and made rules (no flying backward, no boosts, no FA-off) to make the space-fairing fun. When 2.1 hit, I was so happy to finally be able to play the way I always wanted to play -- flying a Cobra with little to no restraints. I don't want to go back to piloting those gimped ships, not after I tasted 2.1.

I think he/she was being sarcastic as all last week players that were upset got told "Post your build and we'll tell you how to fix it and play!" granted it was labelled as advice and some of it was really good, but the "Holier than thou" tone made it all feel a bit bad taste. :(

This is the exact argument people is using to justify the other position: before 2.1 I was happy, I don't want to - I was playing the way I always wanted to play.

No. The game is broken if players are reduced to placing major restrictions on themselves to get a challenge. It's not broken if players get creamed by NPCs because they refuse to learn how to fight properly and "git good".

It seems that FD really looked at the players statistics (number of active players, number of new players, number of old players playing no more after 2.1 etc.), did some math at the financial department regarding the future sales of next season pass etc. :)

Reading some of these threads I find myself wondering why some players don't just spend their time in Space Engine instead. It lets them visit the whole galaxy but isn't a game and therefore includes no possibility of being attacked, absolutely no possibility that they will ever lose a ship since they don't have one and in general is a perfectly fine accompaniment to sitting around singing Kumbaya whilst dreaming about My Little Pony. Meanwhile those of us who don't find the prospect of our pixels getting killed to be especially horrifying could just crack on with enjoying a challenging game.

If it turns back into a cuddlefest like it was prior to 2.1, that financial department is no doubt going to have to look at some more figures because there will doubtless be a significant cohort of players who will be very displeased.

This is subject to interpretation.. you can try harder challenges (e.g. difficult planetary outposts) with your best ship and still get killed. If you are using an expensive ship and kill everything then I'd say you have already achieved a status where a single npc is no longer a challenge for you, and need to look for something else. A single AI ship doesn't have to be a 'boss like' fight all the time, just saying. Haven't tried the new AI against a wing of 5 vultures, but I don't think it is easy..

Anyway I'd like to see an even harder AI, just in case.

Does that mean i can come back to play now. :)

Also ppl with hotas of course it's was easy for you.
Everything is easy with the right tools.

I use keyboard and mouse, but yeah, just tried combat with voice attack, made things considerably easier on maneuvering, didn't have to fiddle around finding buttons in the heat of battle.

Game is going back to the infantile casuals. I guess people will go back to hunting other players again now that they'll be bored and need something to use their instagib engineer weapons on.

Oi, casual player here.....loved the AI in Beta 4 and at release of 2.1. The problem here are the non-casual grinders who just wanted Farmville in space.....and got        off when that was no longer the case.
