Having a 'consoles only' Open option should mitigate concerns about cheating & macros, although in practice I don't think it's much more than an edge-case problem.

I never heard PC user crying about cheats or macros ruining game play. I would love to meet those cheaters and macro monsters on my X-Box. We have such a low population meeting anyone in open is a thing!
Yeah, I don't believe it would be a hassle for Xbox players and we are getting very lonely on console.
Think of the DEVs and the community managers that will have to merge the PS and XBOX forums into one forum? Too much work they'll never do it.

can they not just create a crossplatform server similar to the openplay one
this way the gamer chooses to interact with the other platforms or not
we've got squad mates on other platforms sitting there by themselves while 10-15 people are winging up on other platforms

I'd prefer it was just one cross platform mode, but having a choice is better than nothing...
yeah me too its just that a lot of people are anti Cross Play out of fear, i figure giving everyone choice kinda nullifies that argument
But I fear if we give people the choice, we will just be left with another set of desolate servers with PC/PS4/Xbox players.
