Most people who use STEAM don't realise that they don't actually own the games they bought.
Neither do you own the music you buy from itunes but still millions do itI for one dont ..
I agree with you though.....Nothing like a big box and game to make you feel your the owner and you have a product you have bought
Or in David Brabens case.....A box to small with shed loads crammed in to make you feel even better![]()
I think what they were getting at Synchromesh is if you buy a CD you have it in your posession the artist won't knock on your door to take it away but on Steam (as happened recently in Aust) they can take a purchase away, sure they will refund you but they can still remove it because they can control that.
I just mentioned its the same for Itunes and music....

100% agree Capn Tucker
There is hope for Diablo 3, i heard rumors that the coming PS3 version can be played offline and even allows co op multiplayer on one machine.
If Steam go bankrupt, what about my games=?
Steam has stated on their forums "we would patch the games to not require steam to run anymore so you could download them and back them up"
Too bad they couldn't do that for the PC version. I loved D1 and D2; played them for years. I had really been looking forward to D3 until I heard about the always on requirement.
So I play Torchlight 2 instead. Made by the original Diablo developers, and 100% DRM free..![]()

Hi fikuserectus,
We've already announced that single player will be playable offline and that the game will be DRM free. Of course online multiplayer will not be playable offline though, because...you know...online.![]()
....yeah...that happened
