Please, please, please go back to ghost trains when testing coasters. My TEST coasters hit peeps off the path, causing them all to get stuck.

I'm lucky I found them. They were standing in a cluster on a path very far from where they were hit, cheering, and also saying "I'm stuck!". TWO of my 3 janitors were also in the group, apparently also having gotten hit by the test coasters. They were also stuck.

So I lost the work of two janitors for who knows how many in-game months, and had 20 guests bringing down my park rating by standing there feeling like crap because there's no "Guest 485 is stuck!" notification or anything.

Yeah for a game that offers so much realism it was kind of an odd choice to let you blow people 50 feet into the air with coaster cars when all you're trying to do is test it.

Add me too. I'm afraid of testing while building because of this. Ghost train while testing in building mode and then real train while just testing is more appreciated.

Nah, they just need a toggle in the options to keep everyone happy... :p

Let's not get carried away with the realism thing. Clearly in some areas they've focused on that (the look and feel of rides for example) but in others being 'realistic' is not a main aim of theirs. It is a game after all.

Yes! MOAR options! The best way to a happy gaming experience in a sim game is to provide lots of options. Then complaints get answered by a "here's how you can fix that" rather than "you can't do that in this game". I LOVE tickboxes!

I guess every decision Frontier has made, has been the wrong one. [redface]

But the point being brought up is important. How are you meant to deal with that? Surely there needs to be a system where you don't get your staff and guests stuck because of a mechanic which although fun means that it can break the game? That is a design issue. Why keep grumbling in threads now because someone has made a clear point where the issue exists and it breaks the game.

Otherwise we would have to build the whole coaster and not be able to test it till it's a complete circuit. That isn't ideal.

Honestly getting tired of your sarcasm in every thread when there is a true point.

I don't get it - OP was testing a coaster too close to some guests, the train came off the track and hit guests (which he didn't notice), and the guests ended up on a path that wasn't connected to the rest of the park?

Sounds like OP needs to just pay more attention?

Or test coasters away from guests? It's hardly difficult to pick up a coaster and place it somewhere else..

Or not have paths that don't connect to the rest of things?

Edit - despite all that, a 'people are stuck' notification would be useful.

Em no. If you are building a coaster through a load of terrain with tunnels and going underground, how then do you move it. Why should we need to close the park to empty our guests out (staff would still be there).

This is an issue. I am sorry but I just really dislike the stupid coaster crashes. They look rubbish, add zero interest to the game, don't fit in with anything else done and to me was just wasted resources to animate that could have done something else.

And people often build sections of park ready to open and then connect it when done. That would also suggest you can't do that because of the stupid coaster crash.

And guests I have found just getting stuck together when in clumps because the game can't work out how to get them to separate when they become clustered. You have to delete the path they are stood on to do anything.

Ah I get you.

Another reason I think they should give us ability to continue playing/building during the closing hours of the park!

Well lets see... You cant make a kiddie coaster go through a zero g roll because thats obviously ridiculous... But you can take said kiddie coaster and just murder a pack of geusts walking past.

But sometimes you want to build the coaster around scenery etc, and by moving it you can't calculate exactly how to manipulate it.
I for one have a coaster running test mode throughout the whole duration of me building it. So I don't always want to close the ride and then press test again each time the train gets to the end of the track.

I think a simple toggle would work very well here.

I already started a thread about this. When testing your coaster while still in construction the train should disappear at the end of the track - just like in Alpha. I don´t want to hit the guests in my park with coaster trains. Crashes should only happen if you open an unfinished coaster.

Yep although you can't open an unfinished coaster can you? So you would never have the crashes however I would be pleased with that tbh.

You should not allow guests anywhere near the construction site... this was bad judgment on your part and a breach of safety protocols. [big grin]
