PMFs: data, charts, and the coming galactic player wars...

And the ability to gradually improve economies, add services to stations, and even change the economy type of a system.

I'd also like to be able to see the progress of a planet being terraformed, and to be able to influence this progress.

And once fully terraformed establish the first Settlement on it that slowly will evolve into a Planetary Outpost and then Port. And beyond that into a City maybe...

I just hope that FD is aware that there need to be interesting game mechanics to handle conflicts.

Plus -even better - create ways to COLONIZE new systems and reduce the need for conflict.

Otherwise this will be the same as Powerplay: Expand and fill up. Then grind and bore each other into submission.

Correct.

BGS is really bad when it comes to conflict, as a "war" between factions most often comes to PVE in CZ's in Solo.

We've been there before couple of times and it's no fun at all, you never see other players and it's just a grind. A grind you have to engage in if you want to keep the system. However this can go on indefinitely...

For now a solution is a mutual war agreement. We have one at this moment - once the other factions expands into the system we both want, we agreed not to interfere with their influence gain until we have a war for the system control. We then agreed to play only in Open and PVP to be allowed only in CZ's. When the war is over, the winning side gets to keep the system and the losing side agrees not to try and take it over again anytime soon. Once some time is passed we may then agree on another fair conflict.

ED is a really weird game in that respect...

While I think more PMF's and more opportunity to interact with people rather than NPC's is a really good thing, at the same time the game does not support this aspect very well.

We'll see what the Squadrons will bring to the table.

We come in peace :)

That isnt how faction wars between PMFs play out. Things escalate real quick and it becomes a burnout quality grind, spanning over weeks for little to no gains and defined by who loses less.
And it is boring as hell.

I hope there will be hardly any connection between factions and squadrons. Faction mechanics - pledging being the most obvious - should be separate from having to join a player group. And the player group should be able to operate not bound to a faction.
Mixing both up brings little to no gains.

Great idea. Where should I deliver these UAs?

Anarchy System near you I'd say. They already do a underwhelming job at keeping their Stations intact (flickering lights, parts missing etc.) that a few more disabled facilities won't really catch much attention... ;)

Edit: looks like someone already had that idea

Is there a clear idea of smount of UAs needed for closing starport ?

As far as I know, no. There are a number of theories that were knocking about. Hidden station pop stats being one, supply demand being another. There are those with significant operational experience using them who would have a clearer idea.

I believe federation systems close to Alliance space really love them! :)

please visit my subreddit /r/elitemiso

(i do not condone or support or engage in UA bombing)

Hiya, all!

I often lurk this sub forum for the awesome information and discussion contained within. Since our station, Malenchenko City, was hit this week I thought I’d share something.

Seems since 3.0 sales of UAs seem to help Anarchy faction influence. We saw regular upward ticks leading up to station closure. When So Yeon Hub was hit last month I remember seeing similar upward ticks. Anyone else have experience with this or done experiments?

Kind of a funny thing, if you think about it!

If you don’t condone UA bombing, then what’s this here? I’m particularly confused since there’s only one player Anarchy faction on that list (mine).

EDIT: Fixed error

I dont think its specific to UAs. 3.0 made BM sales positive for anarchy factions rather than negative, so yes you're likely to get a boost from the sales before everything goes boink.

Yeah, that was our thinking as well. Anyone know if the amount of influence gained by BM sales is tied to the amount of profit you earn (like legal commodities)?

Trading and BM sales are relative.

Per transaction + modifier / population more or less. Maths may not be exact.

I speculate you can't do much more than double the transaction value, but higher profitable items such as Thargoid Sensors likely hit that max easily.

Just thought I'd add in that I play on Xbox and my PMF is in an area of space that no CMDRs ever visit, so none of my work to take systems will appear on these stats.

With the new PMFs now in the game for about a month or so, I thought to update this chart. It doesn't look like they've been terribly successful so far, as a group, in taking their home systems.

Some or most still need to learn the ropes about the BGS. Our two closest neighbours doing fine, though one is having some problems due to the controlling MF in their System being located in many others. Resulting in conflicts elsewhere and thus preventing to take on the MF in their home.

Comes time comes success.
