I have three monitors, all 1440x2560.

BUT I find the image edge distortion far too much if I use all three, so I use just the middle one with real life stuff on the other two for the game. I really, really wish that we'd get multiple 'cameras' at some point, one for each monitor.

THIS! Yes!
I have complained to FD in each beta about the ridiculous stretching.
The only response I could get was that it was supposed to compensate for the angle of the screen to the eye. To which I had 2 responses:

1: In order for a planet at the edge of the screens to look properly circular, my nose had to be about 2 inches from the centre of the screen.
2: Surely it is not beyond the wit of man to rotate the two outer screens so they are facing me?

I didn't get a response and nothing has changed...

Will complain again in the next beta, for now I have reduced it so the game runs on 2 monitors, with EDDiscovery etc round the edges. Best I can do, really.

Beautiful !

cheers actually:

im custom building a desk in july and would love a better shot of how you mounted that lower monitor.

nice boots

monitor?
Jeez what a nightmare - it was horrible.
The pit has evolved over years. I put that monitor in when flying WW2 bombers.
Cliffs of Dover has an API so you can run a third party instrument panel.
Monitor is in a terrible position - you have to move your head around to see past the joystick.
To get it in the right position took forever. You can buy 'lockable swivel monitor mounts' pretty cheap from electronics hobby shops and office furniture places. Most monitors have standard VESA mounts. I had to install the bracket upside down and on a spar that comes out from the back of the desk.
The wings are thin and 'no step' can't carry weight, but the back is really strong with 4by2 structural pine.
So the monitor is on a locked swivel mount is on a 4by4 spar is held by coach bolts and a bracket to a strong back.
LOTS of stuffing around to get the height of the top of the lower screen to be just under the big screen. AND to have the bottom edge of the lower monitor visible from sitting. AND to have the screen angle right because LCD screens have poor off - axis visibility.

Also chair is on wheels and uses a gate lock to hold in place, with a lever release where the Caution / Rescue sign is.
The kids sometimes take it for a burn up the street, but it steers like a T-9.

ED has a lot to learn from driving simulators when it comes to multi screen support. Games like Project Cars, Eurotruck simulator 2, iRacing etc. have individual render point for each screen so the stretching is not a problem.

Eurotruck Sim even implemented this into their game a long time after release, so I hope ED can make this happens as well.

Just one 1080p monitor for actual play, but I usually have some ED-related material up on my smartphone as well, whether it be RES locations, trade data, community goal info, etc.

One 32" at 1080p.

I came down from 3x24" at 5760x1080 for performance reasons. You need a big card to drive those at ultra in Horizons; it was more GP than I could afford.

I usually play Elite using 1 screen but sometimes 1 screen and 1 projector. The projector beams on the wall over the fireplace. I prefer to play Elite on my table which is made of oak with a 17" glass front monitor set into it a bit like TV newsreaders have. Except mine is not deep set and tilted, but flush with the surface.

Does anyone else play Elite in horizontal mode. The joystick sits on the screen and obscures the flight display a bit.. but the whole setup works well and I can move the table real close to the fire to keep warm.

Just 1: 55" 3840x2160 16:9 TV
I don't actually have a "monitor" attached to my gaming PC. Haven't had one in years.

I use three main 28" monitors, but have a number of ancillary USB monitors for Teamspeak, Inara and ED Discovery.

Sorry about the picture quality, the room was dark and I was using an iPhone.
I fly with the now defunct X65F and one of those European MFG Crosswinds pedals sets.

I want to through this down has the winner of the most commited ED setup I have seen... and would deify anyone to beat it --- VR doesn't count unless the rest of your setup is insane...
