It is supposed to be a ship racer no ? What is the point of it being slow....
It was supposed to be a combat ship based on a racer prototype, not a racer tank armed to the teeth with more guns than a small fleet.

My Mamba goes 592 m/s fully armored and ready for combat, but still flies like a Viper IV with worse lateral thrusters.
I love the ship anyway (probably because I love the Vipers).
No, it wasn't, neither is it slow.It is supposed to be a ship racer no ? What is the point of it being slow....
Coriolis says boost to 640 and change. If you fiddle around, a full weapons loadout in a lightweight shield based setup is possible while keeping that speed - although I'd hate having to take that against a well shielded/armoured PvP build, my Courier has better shields (and hull) than that.
But the speed vs. mass curve in Coriolis drops very slowly.
It's a drag racer, not formula one.So it's still not going to win against a Courier in those canyon races?

And why would you, or anyone for that matter? Top speed is hardly ever decisive in any PvP engagement, unless you want to flee in which case a higher MLF is more useful than higher top speed. Gettin 10 m/s more is nice but I'm currently more interested in the agility buff.
I hope nobody was expecting something equivalent to a lighweight enhanced thruster courier build. They go so fast because of the amazing compromises you have to do to get the weight down to a workable value. If the Mamba boosts 600 in combat fit, it earns its name, imo.
387, my first thought was math coprocessor.

No medium ship except another Python could ever put my Python into any real danger. Getting 10 m/s more is nice but I'm currently more interested in the agility buff the Mamba got. Hope it's a bite more substantial than the speed buff.
Please post here if the agility buff is significant. I would love to trade a Chieftain for a Mamba.
Its agility out of the blue zone was improved, its overall agility hasnt been touched IIRC
Looks like mine will do 600 as is now. Did a bunch of wing assassinations last night to test her out. If the agility is improved, this will be a beast of a combat ship. Might even give my FDL a run for the money.
So its manuverability with less pips was increased and thats it.Mamba
- Increased top end speed
- Increased pitch rate when below max PIPs
- Slightly reduced the ENG usage on boost
- Slightly increased heat gain to compensate
