Post-Salvation Stuff (The spoiler thread)

Oh damn... checking it out now...

Hmm... was just a shipwreck and a green cloud, but it was flicking weirdly. But I was working this system earlier today, and it wasn't there before. This is something new...

There may be more in other systems with thargoid structures?

Anyone want to check if systems they were creating Grelics in have these? Was the only system I did that in, so i don't know any more.

I looked at Delphi and HIP 22711 where I did some of mine and don't see anything so far 🤷‍♀️

Edit : things might be stuffed in random systems and rely of 'wisdom of crowds' i.e. people stumbling across things. Making then dependent on user actions ... less likely?

Yeah I can't find anything like this anywhere else except HIP 14909. It's a single wrecked Corvette... a green thargoid-like field with pulsing lighting like a Lagrange storm cloud and a scoopable black box. Nothing to scan, nothing shows up.... strange...

Followup on my earlier questions about TharGuardian Relics / Unclassified Relics:
  • They do not react to the Discovery Scanner honk, even in any location inside HIP 22460, including next to the Bright Sentinel -er, what's left of it anyway.
  • They do not slow or stop the degradation of Guardian modules when carried in the cargo hold.
  • They do not appear to interact with Modified Plasma Chargers in any way.
    • That includes being shot with them, though I only tried an uncharged shot to avoid destroying a sample.
  • Quick analysis of the audio of an Unclassified Relic was inconclusive; I need to find a location that does not have background noise to get a cleaner recording:

My eyes think there is something up in the higher frequencies in the middle there, but that is most likely pareidolia. Aside from the periodic clicks, nothing else of note was recorded.

As far as I can tell, Unclassified Relics are solely commodities to sell to either Palin or Ram Tah at this time.

Just a quick hint when converting GRs to URs. The heat pulse from the Thargoid machine is on a timer. If you go outside repair the corrosive damage on your SRV then go back in , the timer ends and you can pick up your URs without heat damage. I'd also recommend being tactical about where you kill scavengers. They pile up and can be an annoying hazard if you go back in to make another set of URs. Would be nice to know what these things are for.

Is this the sound of an UR when honked, or is this the sound at the end of the trailer?

They have a tendency to respawn when you move away from their spawn points. I had an army of them spawning in while the Thargoid Device was having its fit.

That was a UR just floating in space. As far as I know nothing changed when I honked at it, but I'm going to check that later. Unfortunately I discovered a bug where jettisoning a UR while landed on a planet prohibits you from targeting it to scoop it back up, so I lost one UR. I've got five left, but here's what I learned:
  • URs are safe to approach on foot
  • They do not react to being punched
  • They do not react to emotes
  • They do not react to being shocked by the Energy Link
  • They make a sound reminiscent of UAs dying when destroyed:

Guys! Are the letters in UR countries expensive? I don't know.. in mine they are free. So whenever I want to write for example Unclassified Relic, I just write Unclassified Relic, so others immediately know what I'm mumbling about instead of furiously trying to find out what UR means...

Did you check all the debris fields? Or could there be more undiscovered logs?
I've been through them all. A good deal don't have anything, and a couple might be bugged... ones with logs would usually contain a scoopable black box, and a "small black box" scannable object. They'd also have a mass lock field when getting closer to the field centre

However, two different exceptions I found:
  • Instead of one scoopable, one scannable black box, I found two scoopable black boxes in literally the same location. Possibly whoever was placing the scannable black boxes got confused?
  • At the time I couldn't get to the small field at 16's moons, owing to it being at the barycenter of the two (and so when I'd drop out, the field would be associated with the wrong moon, and so it'd fly off into the distance.

Thanks!

we need to be careful here, we could be the spreader of these green versions. how do we know these will not generate and emit something all over the bubble due to them being stored everywhere.... could take many stations out with a single switch on
