Pranav Antal

I've pledged, he appears to be a right nutter, although I've been taken out by people supporting the pirate chap already!

Only those who follow barbarians and hypocrites can be labelled 'nutters'. Utopians have only realised the truth and accepted change, while the unenlightened like Archon still follow the old paths of destruction and barbarity.

He's a sociotechnological fascist, a cultist who promises much, possibly believes his own stories, wishes to seek purity for humanity, and who will seek whatever means to achieve his goal.

Although surprisingly he does an amazing rendition of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" on karaoke Wednesdays.

I m not sure about antal, to many promises, he sound like a politic from actual earth, says something then does the opposite

Why not work for him then and make sure he lives up to his promises?
Do you want to influence the decisions of this rather small organisation and have an impact on the galaxy,
true to his promises and agendas?

Join the Anta-gonists, spread the word.

At least Antal wants a better humanity for all. His opponents offer stagnation and unending conflict, dividing rather than uniting.

I've pledged to him and will spread Utopia where I can. But I get the impression that FD have deliberately set him up to fail. Smallest power, bad starting position, only 5 systems (all low CC value, one is negative) and no shinies to attract the masses. How many people are going to be attracted by a 5% infulance change bonus.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, and it's the reason I haven't pledged. Of course some Powers are going to start off weaker than others, but I don't see the point in one that's literally impossible to get anywhere with. All the others appear to have a reasonable chance. It's obviously deliberate, so FD can demonstrate early on how a Power can be wiped out, and it's a really contrived and crappy way to do it.

A shame, as a lunatic conman cult leader would be a fun one to support, but I don't really want to waste my time on PowerPlay if FD are fixing the outcomes. If somebody from FD can confirm this isn't the case and that Antal has some kind of strength or benefit that isn't immediately apparent, I might reconsider.

Don't you see any resemblance to Steve Jobs?

He rather reminds me of this guy:

Mister Universe from Serenity.

I'd like to hear Antal views on A.I.

I would think that it would be welcomed rather than feared. If society as a whole mistrusts and relies on base impules what does it teach the products of society like AI? Old Earth stories of Skynet and HAL tell us lies and fear were the mistakes, not the AI themselves.

I would've if he wouldn't be such an aggressive and slave-trading good for nothing.
Pranav is to my liking. Control the Media, control the 'verse.

Sorry to disaapoint you there,
i wouldn't serve a rabid dog a single day.
He just doesn't know what PR is,
neither does he know the word "humanitarian".

My Pride was ever since tied to my home, which shall be annected.

I like the open-source, sharing knowledge with everyone (even rival powers) approach - spreading "informational material", fine, shooting down "violent protestors", aight - but doing rendition flights to counter dissent? Really?

The lore on Pranav Antal seems to be about sharing knowledge and tech - Antal should do that to fortify - bring experimental tech into the new worlds; not escorting people with a different opinion to some Guantanamo camp.

So, yeah, instead of switching to a different power (or cease supporting any), I would rather see Antal live up to the vision outlined in the lore that's already there - and find some meaningful gameplay around that.

Thoughts?

It is the same with any person or group trying to force an ideology, it always boils down to the same thing, believe what we believe or die. Look at the problems of our modern world for example, a lot of it is caused by difference in ideology and as history has shown ideology leads to conflict and death, even if said ideology is about peace, love and making everyone equal.
