That's not what the quote says, it says the discount will be available from the 21st.

You should give access to the single player build to anyone with an expansion pass. We have paid for ALL expansions.
Got to have the full game released before you can have a game expansion ...
The delay in standard beta upgrades is disappointing and frustrating but I can only direct that at myself. I chose to back ED in kick starter at a level that did not include beta access.
Frontier have offered a way for me to access beta for £75 more and get all the future expansions but given my experience with SC I am reluctant to spend that money. I could spend £50 and get a second copy of the game and beta access which is tempting as I am sure I could find ways to use or give away the second account.
If I wait until Monday I may be offered £15 to upgrade to beta access and that would be great. I will, in the future, be offered expansions to the game when they are ready at a price unknown but if the game is even half as good as I expect it to be I shall have no problem paying for those either.
Just remember you could have backed SC for considerably more and currently have no access to ships you pledged for, a beta of hanger to walk around in and a 1km diameter space simulation.
You can still get the expansion pack for £35 for a couple of week more. I would get that and wait for the upgrade discount rather than spend £50 on beta 2nd copy and no expansion pass.
and have been lied to twice. First on 27th June news letter 29 said we could upgrade. when that did not happen I was told 15th July. I will probably give up waiting for beta upgrade to avoid the irritation and just wait till Gama arrives.
Maybe I should get a secret gaming account.
There has been no officel notices we only get to know what is happening if we email to find out. and have been lied to twice. First on 27th June news letter 29 said we could upgrade. when that did not happen I was told 15th July.

I don't for a second think Frontier have lied to us. I suspect that the change in upgrade date is an oversight. Someone decided to extend the Premium Beta at the last minute without realising the full implications (a common issue with last minute changes which haven't been fully thought through).
I am however very disappointed that when the oversight came to light they didn't follow up with some Comms. The biggest issue here is a failure to actually communicate with their customers - or even to acknowledge the issue.
Full implications about what? Offering upgrade to normal beta is not something FD exactly is obliged to provide. It is smart decision, sure, but when it comes, it comes.
No one said anything about 'obligations'. What I believe Whirlmeister means by 'full implications' is that the decision to extend the duration of Premium Beta sales means delaying the upgrade opportunity for potentially 16769 Kickstarter backers who pledged at one of the tiers granting them the finished game.
And that's cool. Upgrade or no upgrade, this is nowhere finished game yet. Now, I'm sure that some of those KS backers will already have paid to upgrade to Premium Beta. It's also likely some aren't interested in beta at all and will be waiting for Gamma anyway.
But the point (as in the point that Terryfried, Whirlmeister and others are making) is one of a lack of communication that has undoubtedly left a bitter taste in the mouths of some of those who were there at the outset of the Kickstarter, backing Frontier, and who now feel like they've been taken for granted, ignored, or overlooked.
And it's now only 4 (very soon to be 3) days.Want to save on upgrade - wait for six days. It is easy, it's summer out there
