No news if Beta2-Backers will get Alpha 1- access on friday (like Premium Betas got with A4)? :S
No news and I really doubt it will happen, at this point alpha 1.1 is very old. However who knows what FD might figure out.

Do we get a notification through email that there is a new product to download from the store when the Beta becomes available?
Not that it makes much difference to me as I will be at work all day, so they could release it at 8am and I couldn't do anything about it.
Me, myself and I (and I guess some other commanders too) wouldn't mind that A1 is oldNo news and I really doubt it will happen, at this point alpha 1.1 is very old. However who knows what FD might figure out.
They announced start of alpha trough email, so I expect same happening with premium beta.

When Premium Beta happens does anyone know if we can keep our control settings?
Find you're custom.binds file, copy it somewhere else. Rename it to whatever you like and then paste it into the control folder where the other preset .binds files live and you'll be able to select it like it was a preset.
User/Appdata/Local/Frontier Developments/Elite Dangerous/Options/Bindings
The information above may prove useful.
Only problem being I cant find User/Appdata/Local/Frontier Developments/Elite Dangerous/Options/Bindings

AppData is a hidden folder. You need unhide it
Or just change your folder settings so you can see them automatically.
The other poster was maybe an alpha backer, with a more updated client using different paths? I'm a premium beta level backer, I can find some possible files in:
Code:C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1000
Is the path to where E: D stuff is stored. There's an OptionsDefaults folder in there with a bunch of .binds files, maybe you'll find your file in there?
at the moment I am being beaten by the the sheer quantity and complexity of combining my HOTAS, Voice attack, TrackIR, mouse and keyboard![]()
I totally get that. I'm an alpha backer and still struggling with the HOTAS and the bindings being reset after every build. The above info is very useful.
I also have one of those EDtracker things, but haven't even gotten around to setting it up yet.
