Community Event / Creation Printable Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS reference sheet

Hello Crab and thanks for your presets!

JFYI the download links for the 2.01 update are the same (both link to T.Flight Hotas, none for XBox 360).

Just a quick thank you to adoredtv I know he's spit the dummy out with FD,but he helped me rectify
a fatal error

I commited a noob error to many variables to work out the problem.

New area 51 titan x dell refurb 40% off what's not too like

Upgrade to W10

Upgrade to Elite horizons

Bought myself a cutter

Could I as hell like, get the throttle to work as it did. I thought I tried every combo under the sun. But all to no avail so went back to basics and watched mouse to hotas x. Five minutes in followed his instructions and everything is back to A#1.

So mate you're videos still add value so isn't it time you buried the hatchet stopped wasting your time on F4 and SC and got back in the game, the only Game?

Hi,
My 1st post here. I'm a total newb. A colleague just offered me ED. The last time and the only time that I've ever played a space sim game was Independence War EoC, back in the days. (A great game!) But I only played it briefly. I had purchased a Logitech joystick at a pawnshop. When it broke I stopped playing the game because keyboard doesn’t do it for me with flight sims. So I'm a real newb.

I've just bought a Thrustmaster hotas x. It'll arrive tomorrow and I'm excited. I’m looking at how to configure it for the game. I really appreciated the charts from the OP.

I was just wondering if anybody has tried mapping it this way. (By the way, I’m a leftie who does a limited amount of things right-handed.)
I was thinking of going against intuition and mapping the rotating “mushroom” type button located on the left of the joystick to control all thrusters: up, down and lateral.
Pushing the stick left and right mapped to roll. And rotating the stick mapped to yaw.
Then I’d use the throttle stick completely for ship functions, all the buttons on the back and on the side controlling systems and weapons.

I’m not sure if this’ll work out, because I’ve barely played the game and I don’t have the joystick yet to experiment with.

I have a T Flight, bought it with Beta over a year ago. (Sorry to feed the necro here)
I use the hat ("mushroom") for power distribution. This is essential, in my opinion. The better HOTAS units have two hats where you could use the second for thrusters but power distribution is more important and thrusters can be mapped to others. But I also have the "3" button mapped as my Shift key so while holding that down I get double the functions 3+hat left/right does head look left and right
Lateral thrusters are the rocker axis on the throttle, verticals are the two buttons next to the rocker. But Shift + Thrust Up engages supercruise and Shift + down thrust engages hyperdrive.
Boost is "8" so you need to stretch your left thumb down - it's the hardest to press accidentally. Shift+boost opens hardpoints. I group the shifted functions to make sense (at least to me!)
the only two that don't have a shifted function is the triggers. I can deploy scoop, gear, target switching (admittedly this is the one place I could use more flexibility as I'm always toggling through targets)
Using this method I can do almost everything from the sticks including request docking and all Starport Services, etc.

oh and under the Landing Override I have the hat setup for lateral and forward/reverse thrusters to assist in docking just as you mentioned.

I'm also a leftie who does almost nothing with my right hand. The way I've segmented the controls fits that very well, as my left hand does more walking around the throttle while my right is spent mostly driving the ship

Thanks for the input, Yachats.

I got the stick yesterday and started going through the tutorials to get the hang of it. I played it safe and configured it following the OP's chart. I didn't realize that systems might be so important that I'd absolutely want them at my thumb. I guess I'll play some more and see different options, such as the ones you suggest.
(Btw, no shame in reviving a necro topic if it's still useful to some. ;) )

Merry Christmas to all!

Recently got a T Flight X to replace my Logitech Extreme 3D pro which was acting up a bit (and I was sick of playing joystick and keyboard and of that fiddly little throttle) and I just want to say thanks to crab for his bindings; they're really well thought out. Nice one mate.

Hi im trying to use my xbox one controller with this bind setup but its not working i cant seem to get the binding to show up and i dont understand how to set it up by myself

Guys after the update I can't edit my custom bind file. Also I noticed if I remove the one I have, ED does not create another. Anyone having the same issues. I have to remap my controls every time I play now. Oh this is on a mac. I just got a new joystick hence the need to change the controls.

I have a xbox pad. I was wondering if I could use a t-flight for my ship and then use my xbox pad for the srv? that possible?

You probably have manually copied files for backup and not renamed them in the XML file. Best to only have the files you need in the Bindings directory unless you are happy hacking XML files.

Just wondering if anyone has a visual of the Default settings for the Thrustmaster HOTAS X
that they could post?

Here you go:

I have to say this is very well done. Very intuitive. Have you mapped the SRV yet? I will be using this layout when I get my T-Flight Hotas X. I will have to pick your brain on getting it all set up.
I modified the above flight stick bindings to include most of the keyboard commands. I can play the game purely using the flight stick. See attached JPG. View attachment 80705

I haven't gotten the horizons game yet. Been playing on my MacBook laptop. I may be getting a Windows gaming PC - which will run the horizons Better than the Bootcamp portion on my Mac. I'm also interested in the 4K VR capabilities of this game. I am grateful for the feedback.

Let's see. I currently have my Driving Force GT steering wheel with pedals, old (10yrs) Logitech Wingman Extreme digital 3d and my shiny new Thrustmaster Hotas X and two virtual (software) joysticks my FreeTrackIR produces, all plugged in together. The game recognizes the input from them flawlessly, the only downside is they will show up as "Joystick X-Axis" "Joystick button 1" etc., with you having to write down what key on which joystick does what :) Apart from that it should work without problems as there are separate sections for the SRV in controls.

That said hovewer I had problems with my wireless XBox 360 controller - when I turned it on while being in Options > Controls, any movement of it would crash the game to desktop. It would probably work if I paired it with windows before starting Elite, but I have so many input choices right now that I couldn't be bothered with trying that. Plus, those XBox controllers do turn off after an inactivity period.

Hi - I LOVE this setup and thanks for creating it. I am having an issue with it I was hoping somebody could help me with. When using these bindings, I cannot type in the search box in the galaxy map. The cursor blinks once very quickly when I focus onto the field, then I can't type at all. I change to any other control scheme and I can type in the box just fine. It's rough switching control schemes every time I want to search for a system. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
