PS plus and board switching

They did act on the massacre mission stacking as peeps were stacking upto 20 missions to kill say 10 ships but then only needed to kill 10 ships to complete all the missions instead of 200!

Fdev have know about board hopping since the get go so it's down to them to either improve or replace it!

I think players that were board hopping to abuse the massacre missions by stacking 20 of them were going against the spirit of the game but checking out the available missions in the other modes and stacking a few deliveries is just a good idea!

I like your thinking :)

Exactly.

What does this have to do with any of it? FD considers board switching legitimate.

If I'm not mistaken, I think board swapping can affect the BGS.

I do see that board swapping has been a known issue for quite some time.

However, FDev may tolerate it, until it doesn't. Thus, Rule #5 is appropriate. IMO

I only discovered that post today, from a video I had been watching on YouTube. It's the first instance that I have come across of Frontier actually taking action against players. Combat loggers seem to get away with it. 'Griefers/gankers' seem to get away with it. However, you mess with the engineers? Action will be taken! Just thought it was worth pointing out, because we've all been waiting for so long for this game and devouring everything we can find about how to get into it. It just made me think today that slow and steady may be the way. Maybe not. But IMHO worth pointing out to the friendly and polite people we have over here on the PS4 forum =]

I figured you dropped the Engineering link after my vague reference to it, for completeness.

No matter what the game is, there will be those who try to game the system. Most likely those are the type who want to be first to "win" and then turn around crying about the game is boring, nothing to do, etc.

As many folks have pointed it out, this is not a sprint game. It is a game of what you make of it.

I have had my fill of sprint to be first, those days are over. I'm looking for a game where I can do what I want, when I want with no stress. ED seems to be the perfect games for x-military type gammers who have retired. :) It is going to be nice, after building a ship that can really go outside the bubble. Bring up the star map, look around and say, yeah, that is where I will go. Fun times.

I dropped the link in just so that people knew that something they may think to be totally innocuous could actually result in Frontier taking action against them. Whatever anyone may think about the rights and wrongs of this, it's the first instance I have seen of Frontier taking action against players.

I may be adding 2+2 together here and getting 42 but I wonder if this link is related...

Despite playing the game for two years I think this graphic shows I've not been abusing any exploits lol :)

Just been enjoying the game :)

Well I don't like your tone so I don't think I'll bother responding to that.

Ok. You dropped the link about the recent engineers exploit and its punishment into a discussion where several people called board switching cheating. From that i inferred that you want to support their point by comparing board switching with the exploit. I would find this quite offensive. I don't think it is fair to compare refreshing the mission board once in a while, just to fill up you cargo faster, with an exploit that completely broke the entire PvP balance, and circumvented the complete engineers mechanic.

Anyway, all i wanted to point out is that ps+ players get a significant advantage over the players that to not have ps+.
Since you pay for ps+, this could legitimately be considered a 'pay to win' mechanics. Yes, i know, you don't win in ED, but lets not get lost in semantics. You pay for a significant advantage. Just that you pay Sony and not FD.

Perhaps he means that winging up for missions, etc could reduce completion time versus doing it solo? I guess that would count.

Hmmm.... Well, I've been personally asking Frontier to give us full-time NPC copilots (make them androids if you must), just so I can have someone sitting next to me out in deep, lonely space. Perhaps they could allow us to wing up with NPCs, too.

However, he's tilting at windmills regarding PS+. I don't like having to pay to play, but that's what it is - pay to play, not pay to win. Microsoft pioneered this model, and Sony learned from them...
