After the wait we've endured, delirium was bound to set in.
I've been playing Elite Dangerous for two years, so I have no excuse. I now own all 3 platform versions.

You install the game from the disc anyway, so you'd still need the space. I believe it will be bigger than that though, that's probably just for the base version of ED.
I'm planning on upgrading my HDD at some point, it'll be £80 well spent, imo.
Hi everyone,
I've added some details to the questions I'm currently able to answer below.
Gameplay
G1 - On the 27th of June, will the PS4 game servers be up and running from 00:00 GMT? Will there be a day-one patch? Will the 2.3.10 update be part of the Digital Download? Or separate? In short: when will we actually be able to start playing?
The game will launch on the store at midnight allowing you to link your PSN and Frontier accounts and play Training Missions. Access to the full game will depend on when our server update for 2.3.10 goes live; we will have further information on the timing for this closer to release.
G9 - Will it be possible for the context UI menu to include also R2 and L2 (and not just R1 and L1)?
We don't currently have any plans for this on PlayStation 4, it's an interesting idea though. I'm not sure off the top of my head if there are technical limitations with this one.
Tech
T1 - What learning points have Frontier gained from their previous deployments on the Xbox consoles? Where there notable differences between the architecture of the two consoles? Is there anything that we can do to help during the early days after the servers will go live?
I wasn't around during the Xbox launch time so can't comment on learning points but the best thing you can do to help during the early days is to be patient! Launching a game is a hugely complicated process (but you all already knew that)
T2 - What is the expected target framerate for PS4 and for PS4 Pro, respectively? Will these be locked or variable (for ex., 60 in space but 30 on planets)?
They are variable on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro in both Performance & Quality modes. Our targets were to make the game play as well as possible in all areas!

H5 - Can we save controller bindings (as separate files) to USB and/or to PSN-cloud? Do/can we get multiple named config saves for controller bindings?
Unfortunately controller bindings can't be saved individually.
I gather the Horizons expansion will add to the installation size?
It will, though I'm not sure by how much (the Xbox One listing says 10mb... o_0 ).
Another unanswered question is how much hard drive space is required for the disc and digital versions. The digital version on the psn store shows 13.9 Gb. Will the disc version have the same size as the digital? I'm getting the disc version and my hard drive is getting full.
Delete the ones you haven't played in a while, there still in your library for future downloading. I've downloaded dozens of games, tried them, then delete them. They all are in my library waiting. I also go into setting and delete the various related save files. having a full hard drive even if it's automatically defraged runs slower than one that is half empty or half full depending on your out look in life.
Are you sure that isn't 10GB?
So, from the T2, it means standard PS4 will have variable graphical options too?
What T2 said was both 4 and pro versions have variable frame rates depending on what is being rendered, but the pro is better in both it's settings than the standard PS4
But only one a new tv, on a 1080, there is very little difference, so it doesn't warrent it. It cracks me up to listen to people rag on and on about how well a video of a ps pro in action looks so great, when their watching it on a conventional 1080 monitor.
