I'm the leader of the PS4 Fleet Defense Forces.
This thread will be for 2 primary purposes:
  1. Posting FDF Events
  2. Requesting FDF Assistance

This isn't a place for general chat as I want to reserve this space to logistics.

Event: Guardian FSD Booster Site Support

PSA: Fleet Defense Forces (PS4) will be at the Guardian FSD Booster site [HD 63154 (B 3 A)] to help any commander that wants to get the FSD booster prior to departure on the 14th. We will be operational in the DW2 Private Group on PS4 (AllCrowsAreBlack) and are initially offering support through the end of this weekend (Jan. 6th 2018). If demand is great enough we may extend that timeframe.

So the launch seemed a bit disorganised. I know we practiced to go to ships calls, but at the WP1 beacon truckers were getting scanned and attacked by pirates.
Trip rules say no weapons at meet-ups, but we're meant to protect and kill NPCs... I did take down a dangerous anaconda, as that was going cause some hurt. But nearer launch WilfridSephiroth reiterated no weapons (note: FSS honking makes you a hollow triangle apparently), so watched CMDRs getting exploded :(

I'd suggest at the next meet-up, if the nav / tourist beacon spawns NPCs, any ships with cargo or wanted move 10km from the beacon, then FDF could sit 5km and intercept any NPCs safely.
This should also make a mass jump easier to organise without other ships buzzing about.
Lastly (in the old days) NPCs used to take up instancing slots, so fewer of them may mean you can wing-in more CMDRs to the area.

That's our new SOP on any meetup at a Nav Beacon in an inhabited system. Fleetcom directives regarding weapons don't apply to PS4 FDF.
I took out 10 NPC ships last night in the the 15 minutes I was at the Beacon. It was a bloodbath.

Next way-point launch, scout out the rendezvous point and see if it spawns baddies. If so, try to wing up hold down the fort. You don't need to kill all of them, most of them will run at 40% hull. Don't pursue unless the rest of the AO is clear. I would suggest getting a wing of FDF together for this, because it can get overwhelming quickly due to all of the targets the fleet presents.
