PS4 Post-livestream FAQ

Did we ever get a definitive answer about the size in Gigs of the download? I would love to know the answer to that question.

Why would Sony licence products that it does not support? That makes no sense.

Edit: Again, Sony is not opposed to PC <> PS4 cross play, both Paragon, Street Fighter, FF and Rocket League support it. What Sony is opposed to is cross-play with competitors, namely Xbox One (and Switch). The reason Sony don't want this cross-play is pure brand driven no matter what they say. The PC is not really a direct competitor to PS4. The Xbox and Switch are. If roles were reversed and Xbox had sold 60m units and PS4 less, you can bet your bottom dollar, Sony would not be opposed to cross play.

(absence of PC is noted)

Good points, hard to argue with any of them.

Don't ask me where I read it but I heard it was ms that turned down cross play last gen when they had market lead :) ps was well up for it then so what you're saying makes sense.

Some do, Epic games have said so. They use Keyboard / Mouse support in Paragon on PS4 and its official support, the PS3 even used to have an licensed branded full size keyboard from Sony for Dust514, it didn't sell well. The support is there, its not Sony stopping anything, its up to the developer.

This is licensed by Sony for PS3/4:

Pargon, Final Fantasy and War Thunder all officially support Keyboard on PS4 and you can use any USB keyboard (not sure about BT), not just the TAC Pro.

Some games like Overwatch as you mention are potentially non-official kludges or work arounds. But if they were so bothered why don't they block keyboard support, like FDev.

Its purely up to the developer as to what they want to do. Sure its probably easier to just have it for chat from FDevs point of view.

What you dont understand is they are useing the same commands that are on the DS4 controller look at a zoom picture on that HORI key pad. Each key has a picture of what controller button it inputs. On PC you can bind every single key and combo of Ctrl ALT and Shift + key or keys. Mapping keys to a controller button (That's done on the hardware) is not the same as mapping a keyboard letters to a control action. You are still limited by the controllers input buttons. If that keyboard work buy it and give it a try!

Hence the difference between consoles and pc, pc's are programable, cousole are not. Hence the reason to buy one over the other, most people are not computer savy enought to edit files, and leave it up to the console designer's to do. Should a counsol have the same atributes of a pc, what would be the purpose of buying one.

PC is actually an acronym for "Personal Computer". Should one allow other's to utilize it, it's not a PC, it's basically for all general purposes, a console. I wouldn't want someone with no computer knowledge messing with any of the vairious files they would have access to on my pc. A gameing console doesn't allow one to have access to any of the files contained within it's programming. Thus one can not currupt, delete, transfer, edit, etc. any which would render it useless like they could on a pc.

Subsequently they are less expensive, they are limited which when compared to the multiple things a pc can be used for. Should one actually utilize a pc for more than just gaming, then, they become less expensive by dividing the money spent on the number of purposes utilized. Can't or better not get caught at work playing with your counsol, where as only one click can hide the fact on a pc.

PC's are designed to be utilized by individuals, consols are designed to be utilized by everyone. I know of no one who would allow the entire family and friends to utilize their pc, but welcome any and all to utilize their console.

I think that keyboard would replace the DS4 / HOTAS, not work along side it. I don't think anyone here wants to steer their ship with a mouse..

Oh oh, now you said it. That's gonna bring pc'ers out in droves. Your days might be numbered, been nice knowing ya. LOL

Q. Will you ban players intentionally trying to damage the launch of the ps4 version.

I doubt it. They are using an in game mechanic not an exploit. You can't ban a player for there intentions only there actions and what they are planning is not cheating in any way. They can't prove intention so they can't use the banhammer.

Not true, the EULA allows them to ban anyone they feel is damaging the game, their call not yours. And a attack targeted @ damaging launch day fits this bill I'd think, but not my call.

So just to Clarify, even If I use my existing Frontier account to link with PSN, with triple Elite, Lifetime Pass, bunch of ship skins, weapon colors etc., I won't lose any them on PC right?
