PS4/PS4 Pro info?

QUESTION QUESTION QUESTION!!!! I now have two PSN accounts for two different ED CMDRs, my primary "Old Duck" and secondary "Jenny". Can both of these be linked to the same Frontier account? I sure hope so, and if not, I hope there is a way to at least link these two accounts so DLC for Old Duck can be used by Jenny without purchasing twice...

That might have been hasty, since Xbox players can create 2 commanders on one account. Might be the same for us. But I'll add a question about this.

If our CMDR name is our PSN name, then there is no other way to have two CMDRs other than to have two PSN accounts, right?

Stormy, good idea!

Willowfan, at least Horizons should work with both, right? I suppose I can live without sharing paint jobs; my two characters will likely be flying different ships anyway.

Just about to announce this in a livestream thread... but we're doing a pre-PS4 launch livestream next week (on Thursday) ... We'll be showing off the game, and all the features on the stream too.

Does that include showing off the Vita (Remote Play) features too?

Or add that as a question to the big list too please.

Good spot madmattnz.

Edit: No flight alternative mode toggle... I hope it's just missing from the graphic.....

I notice they don't have the left stick press mapped. Isn't all of this supposed to be customizable?

Yeah that's another odd one as is in classic 3 keys bound to cycle fire groups. Copy from Xbox with extra touch pad stuff. I am going to bind the touch pad to things like landing gear, cargo hatch. Secondary stuff.

I want keyboard commands soo bad  I don't see raise and lower Landing gear. Lights on and off are also MIA.

Yeah a quick check of the Xbox and it looks the same. None of the multi binds are shown. So looks like loads missing from theirs when they are not. Half a job basically with those pics. A shame.

The "Hold X context" will presumably have all the extra functions. So ShipFunctions + down may be landing gear toggle.

From memory my DS4 setup on PC is like this:

Shoulders:
R2 - Primary fire
L2 - secondary fire
R1 - increase thrust
L1 - decrease thrust

Left stick - pitch + roll
right stick - yaw + thrusters up and down
L3 - boost
R3 - FA On/Off

d-pad (set different controls for landing, these do up/down left/right thrusters):
up - ENG
left - SYS
right - WEP
down - balance energy

face buttons and modifiers:

triangle - cycle weapons
+up - lights
+left - cargo rack
+right - silent running
+down - landing gear

circle - target
+up - highest threat
+left - cycle subsystems
+right - cycle next target
+down - next route

square - (don't recall)
+up - comms panel
+left - target panel
+right - system panel
+down - role camera
+touchpad - debug camera

X - zero throttle
+up - 75% throttle
+left - radar dec
+right - radar inc
+down - 50% throttle

menus:

d-pad to move about
x - accept
circle - cancel
triangle - next tab
square - previous tab
touchpad - centre VR
options - game options menu

I'm going to need a bigger flowchart...

I'm going to miss by X55 Rhino from playing on the PC - each function got it's own switch/button/toggle ...

On the PC control menu, you can completely change all bindings from whatever default there is. Hopefully, the PS4 version will have something similar ...

funny thing is we can speculate til cows come home, but the only way for definite information is to watch livestream on thursday, though i can predict at least one answer of "we have no information on that." or "we will announce it closer to release"

Greetings,

Nine days to go until Tuesday June 27th...I have a PS4 Pro, two Dualshock 4 controllers with a rapid charge stand, a ChatBoost attachable QWERTY keyboard, KontrolFreek extended thumbsticks/pads, PS4 wireless adaptor for PC, Sennheiser PC363D gaming headset, Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS 4, Playseat Challenge and even a Logitech G29 racing wheel, pedals and shifter racing online with others in Project Cars plus other games as in Alien Isolation, Grand Theft Auto, No Man's Sky, Watch Dogs 2...all designed to bring me up to speed on how gaming works for the PlayStation.

I've joined the PS4 Mobius Community, purchased the Commander Deluxe version (which suggested that I might get a day or two earlier download), purchased both the PlayStation Now and Plus accounts plus many games available figuring it all out.

I have a PC account with a billion+ credits and 21 of the best ships all A-rated and engineered. It took 2+ years to get there. This has all been about coming up to speed with a PlayStation and how this world works so when Elite Dangerous comes online I can tell if they got it right or screwed it up...well from my game play style. We'll see.

Regards

Hi Hooplah

I look forward to your opinion on how ED on the Playstation 4 compares with ED on the PC! –see you in the black CMDR.

And you are all ready to start it all over on the PS4 ?! I SALUTE YOU COMMANDER !

Are you a "good guy" or a "bad guy"? We may be all starting out in Sidewinders flat broke, but I'm keeping my eye on you veterans, especially if you're of the "shoot first, say hello later" variety :O

I'm a good guy. But I suspect there are bad guys frustrated with the PC version who will take out the new PS4 players to make a point. I and many other good guys will be looking for them. Not a total solution if the bad guy invested in a PS4 as much as I did but we will see. Very easy to go Solo and quickly move to a combat capable solution. My advice is to get your Sidewinder out of the initial starting systems so you can figure out the game without being killed every time you log in.
