Actually there isn't that much engineering required, I found after having a closer look at some AX builds. (Compared to PvP builds certainly) So back to my beloved guardian sites it is for me then... to hopefully join the fun soon. (and probably be utterly useless)

In your videos you don't seem to bother with either a xeno scanner or flak launcher, any advice on that?

The Xeno Scanner allows you to receive the normal target information you would receive from human ships (hull remaining, shield status etc) - and if a full scan is performed, sub targetting and swarm size left too. With experience you can get by without this and not having one allows more heatsinks to be fitted
regarding flak this is very dependent on the ship used and piloting ability. not fitting flak allows another medium gauss cannon to be fitted - the tradeoff is having a swarm always present and needing to be constaantly mobile and vigilant to avoid them flying over you and becoming agitated. If you can boost orbit then it is no problem but if not, you will really want to eliminate the swarm before attacking the interceptor
