PUBG

Playing on PC I presume ?

If you just went through the 1.0 update your might want to restart steam, it did the job for me. Matchmaking would work fine after that.

ah sorry bud was just jesting.

just bought the game. its what i wanted out of arma mp. excellent stuff.am late to the show.

PUBG has peaked my interest.

But I probably won't bother with it, because I tend to get bored of PvP games pretty quickly.

I haven't played Battlefield 4 in about 3 years, and never bothered with the following games. Lol

I only played MechWarrior Online for about 3 weeks before getting incredibly bored.

I'm more of a solo or co-op type myself these days.

its basically an ARMA deathmatch, with some simplifications.

you can play as 1 vs 99, 2 v 49 other squads of 2 up to 4 v 4 teams

I only deal with the solo

This game gives you good paced action - with a winner takes all match approach. A shrinking play zone as time passes forcing players into movement and action

It tries to solve problem with large map/big open world games and multiplayer - you can't force players to go toe to toe so everybody will avoid each other as long as possible.

Problem is - it is boring in long run.

I thought that was the point of Battle Royale. Give enough room to loot and gradually confine players to battle it out on a kinda forced KotH obejective. PUBG takes up where DAYZ and the other such clones failed to recognize what the players were looking for - fast-paced action with random elements.

Ive been having fun with this, Im no good at it, but it does get the adrelanin going, have had some heart stopping moments.

Just got to the later stages of one game on the new desert map with 14 left and the only building in the vicinity being a church, it reminded me of a Tarantino film, a 14 way shootout going on in and around the building, I didnt last long.

I love the crossbow.

its a great game. at most - 20-25 minutes for a round of adrenaline. you can dip in and out as needed.

Am currently enjoying the FPP mode - its a different, IMO better challenge.

that despair that comes after the shock of being taken out completely unexpectedly

Not a big fan of the crossbow, but I do like getting into the graveyard :)

PUBG does a nice job of allowing multiple playstyles

some players jump into the hot spots where you are guaranteed either a quick death, or good weapons and some quick kills

or you can try to hang around on the outskirts, and maybe have poorer equipment

the ever decreasing circle of actions pulls everyone together as time passes. i have made it to the top 5 without kills, but you have to kill at least 1 to win :)

Yes, I like the fact that I can fire it up for 30 mins max and get a few games in, its one of those games where I dont have to engage my brain too much, its more 'fight or flight'.

FPP mode has changed the game, I feel a little safer knowing that hiding is little easier and Ive actually managed to get some kills.

I actually made it to the last 6 last night, I was lying prone by a tree and heard a car in the distance, I watched the car make its way right up the hill to my tree where the driver jumped out, ran up to me and shot me.

I dont know how he would of known I was there, I didnt move because I assumed he would just drive past and not see me.

Watching the death cam I can see that he may of got a glimpse of me as he approached the tree, but he still made a beeline towards my spot.

I suppose he could of spotted me from afar with a scope or something - I will watch the full replay later and find out.

with lower graphic settings the bushes are more sparse. so if u think u were hidden by bushes - you may not have been.

well that in its self if a failure of the game in my personal view, everyone should be equal in visibility and graphic settings should not be able to alter that.

btw there is a VR version which is quite good, still early stages but like PUBG has potential.

agree its not right and is a shortcoming.

its easy to even it up though - reduce the graphic settings for the grass to low. and never think you can hide in foliage.

It works for some people though, I have got some kills from hiding in bushes/grass.

I remember WWII Online having the same problem, people would just turn the foliage settings down.

That is the singular reason I will not play on PC. I don't like shooters where that's possible. Especially one so tactical as PUBG.

I don't dislike the game... But I have my limits. So I vote with my wallet and I just won't buy.

I may get it on Xbox though, where graphics tweaking isn't possible, at least for legitimate players.

If PUBG Corp make the game run better, that is. We shall see.
