Pulse Wave Scanner Works...Backwards

I take it you're the kind of guy that would buy a Mercedes and if the air conditioning went out or the brakes intermittently malfunctioned, or the steering wheel pulled to one side, you'd just say "Hey, what's the problem?...I can STILL DRIVE....woo hoooo!!!" Yes, it's just a game, and not the end of the world. It's just irritating that you (and really only you) have been totally condescending to any of us that enjoy the game the way we always played it, and now so obviously doesn't. We know it's a bug, you know it's a bug, the entire Elite community knows it's a bug. Surely, even you can understand the angst, even if it is seemingly insignificant to you. Thanks for the invite for the wing, but think I'll stick with GTA 5 Online, Factorio and 2K21 golf until Frontier fixes this. Flying around and doubling back on myself is a waste of time.....I have more than enough credits for 10 lifetimes, and have every ship in the game max-rated. I simply enjoy blowing up Cores as relaxation and it's stupid to have to zig-zag and do stupid tricks to get the PWA to work.
Believe you me, Core Mining, to me, is anything but relaxing. It's a pain, horrible experience. FOUR hours I had to spend squeezing the trigger and praying to see the nice lemon yellow glow of the VO, only to be dashed over and over again However, given enough time, I was able to, finally, find enough hits. All I am saying. I get that it doesn't work like it used to, but really, I started Core Mining just a few weeks before that patch, so it's all I really know, or most time spent mining, has been post-patch. Anyway, here's to GTA 5, Robigo passenger missions, and being financially independent! 😁

I'm sure I've said this before but it's annoying that FD haven't said anything about this issue even though it's been confirmed so long ago. Even if their response was "working as intended", or "we're looking how we can fix it". Instead, they say nothing, the ticket remains open, and we're all sitting around wondering what's going on with it.

One word... "Odyssey".

This YouTube video will explain, a little. as to why FDEV is not fixing the PWA. Also, yesterday, I did a little test... I went to several VO HS, some small, some large, some double over-laps, some Low and some Pristine. They ALL produced the same amount of VO, there was virtually NO difference in the amount of VO Cores found. Also, and interestingly, I went to random Icy Rings with NO VO Hotspots and found the EXACT same amount of VO Cores, along with the same ALL cores of LTD, Alex, Brom, etc. The entire idea of a "HotSpot" is a complete joke and makes no difference than if you just dropped into an icy ring with no hotspot. And, to add insult to injury, I compared a Pristine to a Low Reserve ring, and actually found a little more cores in the LOW ring!

What the guy says in the video sounds logical, however, didn't David Braben himself deny there would be a code refresh with Odyssey? At least I thought someone said that on this forum somewhere 🤔. I could be mistaken.

Thanks for that Red House but it really just confirms the worst doesn't it?
FDEV know the PWA is stuffed up but have better things to do than even talk about it.

I'll be waiting for lots of amazing reviews before considering Odyssey.

Their entire focus is on Odyssey. Think of all the man hours they've put into this Odyssey, the hype, the build up, the anticipation. They know everything is riding on Odyssey and it could be a make or break moment for FDEV and ED. The game is getting stale, as the dude states in the video they really can't keep adding more pasta to the spaghetti they have going here. I don't give a Rat's for Odyssey, and wish they had just focused on the game as it stands. Updated the graphics, added some more ships, made Core mining FUN again, fixed some bugs and quirks of the game, etc. Personally, my opinion, and it don't mean squat, but I think Odyssey is going to be a disaster. Even if it WORKS as intended, I still think people that play this game and have for years, the way it is, are not going to take to turning ED into some sort of MMO/FPS/OPEN/SOLO thing...Time will tell. Hope I am wrong and it's great, but I can't see just how without a, near, complete overhaul. I am talking ground floor re-write, modern engine, complete assets re-work... shudder! It's ugly man, ugly. Lipstick on a pig, I say. I have over 2000 hours of my life in this game. I would hate to see all that time go to waste over Odyssey, but I am afraid that's exactly what's going to happen. Trying to stay positive, but I just have this feeling...

There are a whole bunch of great things about this game. I played it for a while a number of years ago then heard it had improved enough to look at again, bought Horizons and I really got into it. Really enjoyed landing on planets and all the different scenes
1350 hrs now. We're invested in a big way - all that learning how to do stuff. I don't think they will change how it works too fundamentally.

If they truly are so focused on odyssey which puts pwa fix back then I don't mind at all. There are other ways to horde bilions of credits for no reason what so ever. If somebody is bothered about getting one feature fixing more than getting a tonne of new content instead, they are entitled to their opinion. My ooinion? I want space legs far more 😊

I hope they don't change it too fundamentally, and add an entire new grind, starting from ground zero again. I just don't know, without a complete rebuild of the game, how we go from the first two images to the next set? I am not saying the game don't need it though, it's really showing its age compared to other games. Star Citizen, which is no ED, but still, LIGHT YEARS ahead of ED in detail and graphics. How they going to turn this into Star Citizen, which is basically what they are trying to do.

OH, I have a reason! I have over 20 ships, and 90% of them need upgrading. I have about $2.7B right now and could burn through that in no time A Rating all those ships modules. And I would like to buy a Fleet Carrier, which is $5B minimum plus the weekly upkeep cost, and I would like to have all services up and running on the FC, so we're taking a good amount of credits needs. The weekly upkeep is not too bad, even with all services active, but that $5B cost, so far, has remained out of my reach. So yeah, I can find ways to spend those horded credits. My Vette alone, with Prismos, ran half a billion credits or more. The Cutter I have is going to be well over a Billion when said and built. So far, I have found two ways to make good money in this game... VO mining, although I have noticed prices dropping in the Miner's Tool. And Robigo passenger missions, which, pays about $100M an hour on a good day. I need to jump into laser mining Painite, keep putting it off. Maybe this will be the better way to "horde" credits? Ha!

Sell half your ships you don't fly 😁

The game isn't about chasing credits, it's about fun. No one forces you to grind.

This isn't a Pokemon collection game.
I have no sympathy for those complain about grinding when they do it to themselves.
100s of Billions and all ships G5 A rated mean zilch if you didn't have fun along the way getting them

Painite is the meta now and you can make 200 million with one pirate massacre.

I use a lot of those ships for storage, since you're capped at 120 modules stored, unless you put them IN a ship. So, they are kind of needed.
