That's got nothing to do with it, at least in the short term. Code is a consequence of decisions made higher up the chain. It's where those design/project & product management/deployment decisions are being made is where the problem is.
If a brand is dumb enough to invite that sort of action, they have to live with the consequences. Note: I also specified social/media, which is a far broader range of consumer action than just tweeting/blogging displeasure. It would be closer to consumer activism across the board. There are precedents for it.

That's a lot of work though, and not sure the ROI is worth it tbh. Maybe if you were heavily invested in the BGS/Player factions/Squadrons it might be, but not for me.
Easier just to uninstall it
