Python/Class 6 thruster issue? (Devs please have a look)

Nerfing Python - endgame

There are proposed changes to python. I think they are completely unbalanced and not fair.

Stat dump for those that care :p Just remember my percentages before were rough estimates. You might find solace or despair below:

Base Shield Health 390 - 260

0 Pips to engines
Maximum Speed 160 - 140
Max Boosted Speed 280 - 220

Max Forward Acceleration 32 - 30
Max Retro Acceleration 19 - 18
Max Transverse Acceleration 19 - 16

MaxPitchRate 30 - 22
MaxRollRate 100 - 90

4 Pips to engines
Maximum Speed 250 - 200
Max Boosted Speed 330 - 280
Max Pitch Rate 38 - 27

If you want to drop base shields and agility you need to give something in exchange.
About 400-420 on boost at 4 pips and a6 drive wil be equal to lowering shields to radiculous level.

A lot of complaining people don't have python and never flied it.

They see only advantages like shields and maneuvoability. but they are completely blind for slow speed (even you have A6 drive EVERYBODY can safe flee from your fire), very long recharge time (if you have shields down you are dead), large rebuy cost, large price and RISK in flying.

They want to beat every ship, without work and play with their stock cobra.

And many of people who has python dont tried to fight PvP on this, because the have no cash for rebuy, so they dont risk.

I flying this ship about three weeks, Trading, PvE and PvP, i know good his strong and weak sides.
I think this ship is good balanced at it is.

People should learn how to play, not nerf everything what is better than them.
You want ship? You want be better? So get and play, do not nerf everthin.

If python will be nerfed to this ridiculous level I consider to End my story in game.
I invested about 500 gpb into this game and half year of playing. I can drop it, because this will completely not make sense to play MMO game which can be nerfed by complains of small group of noobs.

We can talk about balancing ships, when all of 30 will be ingame about half a year and there will be balancing feedback. Not now.

It's not called "a nerf". It's called "balancing", and as Mike Evans explained in great detail against the (in some parts rather undignified and uninformed) shouts of the "community", the Python has a designed place in the game, and its current state does not put it in that place.

If you want to quit over a minor stat change, feel free to do so. If you want to discuss it, feel free to do so in the numerous threads that already exist on that very topic, but I guess you opened a new one because everything you just wrote has already been said.
 
As a python owner.....I can see where the changes make sense. Its a multi-roll ship and therefore should not excel at anything. The dedicated fighters should excel at fighting and the planned Vulture will fill that gap for big ships so the Python needs to budge over a bit.
 
Most people agree that the Python was unbeatable. It needed some performance reduction so that other ships had a chance against it.
 
This nerf will be OVERDONE.

Thing is players want to be able take out other players big ships like Python/Anaconda with their small Cobras/Vipers/Asps which is just ridiculous. Task like this should require teamwork of few smaller ships.
Not to mention it is possible right now (in seconds) as the video below shows:

Nerf shields OR speed/maneuverability not both.

Proper balancing can start when'll have ALL ships in game. Right now it's just waste of FD working hours.
 
please provide a list of ships with better shields than Python post nerf. To back up your claim the new shield strength is "radiculous"...

Single most biggest change that needs to be done is not just for the Python - FD should reduce the repair and wear&tear cost for all ships by a factor of 10. Because the problem with large ships and why shield cells are so crucial for them is that once your shields are down, you have already lost. Even if you defeat the enemy, you can expect a six digit repair bill. This is also why I am really worried about the nerf to the Python's shields. When I fight with my Viper and the shields are down, as long as I survive I can still expect to turn a profit on a session of bounty hunting. If the same happens to my Python, I can be glad if I break even.

Please explain to me how this strategy will not work on Anaconda, Clipper, Dropship or Asp. Preferably like I am 5.

Because if it as well works on those ships. That vid is NO reason not to balance the Python. It's a reason to adjust the effectiveness of the strategy.
 
I think you are five if you do not understand.

Video is good proof to boost python, not nerf.

Proposed changes making this ship another space truck. Clipper will be much more interesting and a half cheaper.
