I think remosito talks about nerfing the Dumbfire missile strategy vs big ships not nerfing the Python playing strategy :)

If this table is correct only Anaconda will have stronger shield (as it should) and Type 9 will be equal.

Entirely correct about "nerfing the Dumbfire missile strategy" as what I am talking about.

that table is no longer accurate as it used wrong forumula let me find the new one real quick...

this are the values pre-nerf btw. You have to multiply all Python values by 0.7.

A6 shield post nerf would give 423 for example. And yes, still second best shields of all ships. Hardly "radiculous"!

Which is why OP never posted that list I asked for. Most people refuse to out themselves as drama queens.

Talk about changing the goal post. is it not the game to aim higher for better ships what is the point of the game ?

It is, but some people will tell you the contrary because they don't want to farm and play the game, they just want to be able to kill everything in their 400kcr ship.
 
Devs will do what they want and what they feel is best for the game. Only they know their future plans. The upcomming changes to the python are not related to player feedback. In fact they announced that they want to nerf the python before all those threads popped up.

So please get over it.

I know what he have on mind, but nerfing strategy effectivness is wrong. Players should develop counter-strategy. Or die.

We should not nerf queen in chess because it is powerful figure. We should develop how get their weakness and strategy to beat.

The point of the game is to have fun! It's not about progression or I-Win buttons, please feel free to quit now if you strongly believe that a more expensive ship should automatically win against a smaller one! The better pilot will always win in this game. The more trigger time you have and the more PvP experience you have the better you will get, but I urge you not start out in PvP by simply grinding up 100 million credits in the safety of solo mode and then buying a Python and switching to Open. You will get blown out of space by ships much smaller and less expensive than yours because you have no experience flying your expensive ship nor how to outfit it.
 
vipers are MEANT to be powerful, they are the military fighter craft and police craft of choice ... if anything they could do with a little extra agility, the thing that is strange on pythons is that they can land on outposts, they should be large craft really, having all the same landing problems of the anaconda...

Chess is a game played by 2 people each having 16 pieces on the board. Having one powerful each is quite okay.


It's actually a pretty bad analogy to ED where each player only has one piece (ship)

I flying this ship about three weeks, Trading, PvE and PvP, i know good his strong and weak sides.
I think this ship is good balanced at it is.

You may fly other ships like the Imperial Clipper or the Anaconda and you may see, that it is not good balanced as it is. It needs a rebalancing, but only in two points i think:

- leave the shields as they are and screw down the speed and maneuverability
- leave the maneuverability as it is and turn down the shields

Also the clipper needs a rebalance at the positions of it's hardpoints and lift up the internal slots.
The Python only costs ~34Millions more than the clipper and you get much more...
- 1 Class 3 Weapon more at a very good position on the ship
- internal compartments are way more highlevel than at the clipper
- very close firing weapons
(pre nerf:)
- bigger shields
- bigger powergenerator etc.

the python is out of balance at this point

edit: i am flying both ships... its not only a view of a beaten player ... its more a view of a beating player

Good thing is, when Python will be nerf, we will be able to take a look at Cobra.
After all, this ship can destroy every ship in the game, is one of the fastest, can be used as a trader (60T is something for rare), has a good jump range... It's like a mini-Python wich cost 400k.

The ship remains the slow and sturdy craft it was originally famous for and some smaller navies still use this class as a patrol cruiser

I am one of the guys who thinks that the pyhton speed and mobility should be lower than the one of the small fighter crafts.

But I see the shield nerf different. Such an expensive ship should be able to deal with a lot of damage.

It still does post-nerf!

Second best shielding of ALL ships. Only Anaconda has more.

You dont get a point.
Playing game should mean progress. You play more, you gain skill, gain better ship and you can be more powerful. You earning credits an you can spent it on better ship.

If you want equal matchmaking go and play Arena Commander.

For now python can be easly beaten by skilled viper and cobra. So why it is nerfed more?

.....and this is where people are getting this game wrong. Its not the goal to get the best ship in the game. If there is a goal at all its the get the best ship for what you enjoy doing......then do it.
