You saw their results last year right? They need revenue badly.
Personally, don't mind it, as long as its not the thin edge of a full pay to win strategy. That will ruin the game for me and, if I remember rightly, DBOBE was dead set against pay to win (i.e. only cosmetic items in the store).
I guess we'll see if the Python MK II becomes the new FDL or Krait MK II.

I'd have gladly bought more ship kits. But with this move to sell ships, probably even rank locked ones with no rank requirement is a agood reason to reconsider.
No, it becomes available to all Odyssey owners on 7 May if they are prepared to cough up for early access.
As the Python II is functionally different, a non cosmetic item is being introduced and those who have an LEP or equivalent are being asked to pay again.
I do not buy ARX, I forfeit my consumer rights when I do so. This is unwise.

Given you can earn these with in game activity, its not too bad and frankly I'm surprised its not happened sooner.

Yeah I don't like the P2W stuff. If ship building is problematic, that's fine - but I do not think just allowing people to pay to skip that is a good solution to that. It also brings into question the effectiveness the engineering changes will have, and whether they'll be tuned to push you towards the Arx store...

Frontier seem to have changed how they approach things like what ARX can and can't pay for.Like they're not giving away 100 ARX for each titan heart that you hit..
It's well known David was against P2W which is why the store (until now) only had cosmetic items that did not affect gameplay.
Given that it will soon have Pay 2 Advance items, who knows how generous Frontier will or won't be in the future.
Pretty sure "Non Odyssey" means Horizons 4.0, not Legacy.

New Elite Dangerous content such as the Python MkII, Powerplay 2.0, ship bundles etc are for the Live version of Elite Dangerous. As previously announced, there are no current plans to bring updates to Legacy outside of critical fixes should they be necessary.Wohooo Legacy gets python 2

Presumably Frontier think our loyalty should be rewarded with the opportunity to pay for non-cosmetic upgrades.
