Python Mk II's are everywhere.

I took mine straight to Luchtaine to fiddle with engineering on it and thought I saw another Python Mk2 in SC on the way there. Speaking of which, the new ludicrous speed FSDs are amazing! I slapped one on my Titan bomber and made a quick run. I had very little game time over the weekend so being able to burn through 5000Ls in no time to get to the target was great. The Krait handled it ok but was akin to charging up in a neutron.
Now I fly to bomb HADAD on FDL and do not experience any inconvenience in flight. Yes, maybe my damage to Titan is not maximal, but I'm a normal person and I don't go for too much.

Maybe you're right. Despite the fact that I have enough ARXs I don't want to buy it (Python Mk2), as I don't see any special advantages over FDL and Mamba.
I don't really feel sorry for the ARXs I have in the game, but I don't understand why I need Python Mk2.
That's a very sensible approach. Never buy anything you don't feel is worth it, no matter what anyone else is doing.

I find the Fer-de-Lance quite bland and boring, despite being a great ship on paper. The Mamba is more my speed, but still not quite my style visually. I took one look at the Python Mk.II and fell in love with the styling, so knew I'd find a use for it, no matter how good or bad it was.

I'm the same in real life. I own a Subaru Impreza despite other cars like Audi's or BMW's being objectively better in many ways. The Subaru just makes me feel happy when I look at it and drive it, in a way that other cars simply don't. That's worth the money and headaches associated with it.

Also. Since it is likely that the practice of pre-purchasing ships will always be there, we will never see new Federal or Imperial ships in the game again.

How we differ, and how we dont!

I like my FDL, it is my goto for Med CZ when I'm not flying with my mates (they prefer doing ground CZ most of the time) and the 5 MC make me chuckle.
The Mamba is a very hard ship to fly well, and I admit to not having put the effort its way, yet!

Yes, the looks of the P2 helps sell it, handling is a dream, and the fun 3 of us had hunting (NPCs) in a pack was priceless.
Our group like to fly together, usually mischief of some sort, and out on Saturday, we 3 all agreed it was worth getting.

Does it have a use beside combat? I'll find out soon, I'm putting together a planet hopper for bio etc out from the Colonia region - 40-ish LY jump isn't too shabby, and using my FC as a base, I should not embarrass myself too much...

I think here it does not matter who wants what exactly, it is important the most popular direction so that as many people as possible want to buy it.
I've never had a T6-T9 because I don't see the point of them, I have a Cutter (or Python Mk1) for that.
Part of the point of the T6/Keelback is that they are much more affordable than the Python Mk1 and fit on smaller pads than the T9 or Anaconda all of which unlike the Cutter are available without having to chase rank. The other point to using them is below.

You don't need it. It is a ship you want because you like it or other personal reason. There are no ships in Elite Dangerous that are irreplaceable there might well be some that are the best at something but that is not the same thing.

If you look at the characteristics of the ships in the spaceport (key =), FDL and Python2 has the same maneuverability (4 squares) Mamba maneuverability is worse (only 3 squares).

Well with a lot of effort you can accept the rule of getting ranks, but the difference in credits (especially with Python1) doesn't have any weight at all in this game.

To us now after all these years no but my opinions about that were established eight years ago.

And you would be right, because cmdrs in sidewinders and other ships not yet fully engineered can be taken to the rebuy screen using many different ships that don't require an arx purchase. The FDL, Mamba, Kraits (phantom and mk2). I mean if you're going after people who aren't yet fully engineered the Orca would be a great choice.

Yeah, the ganking itself is not the hilarious thing here. It is the zero-cost rebuy with all its side-effects especially in context of ganking. Almost as if it was specifically designed for that purpose.

Anything you put on the ship makes it have proportional rebuy so a "zero cost rebuy" would require you to leave the ship as is. If someone wants to gimp themselves that much to avoid paying 6-7 million credits that is quite the trade off. To pretend many people are going to do this is just making up hypotheticals to become mad at. And regardless of the amount of people actually doing this, what do you care if someone saves 10 million credits in today's economy that allows for billionaire status in a day? The credits saved here are negligible and no one with 100s of hours in game is going to be in a position to want to even avoid the cost outside of click/outrage farming youtubers. (and the farming worked)

I get the impression you either have not watched the video at all, or not completely. Also what's with that straw-man of "pretending many people going to do this" or "care if someone saves 10M"? Nobody wrote or implied that.
