Python or Anaconda?

wow u must be fast. on a one jump route i can only make about 4 or 5 round trips per hour...

It probably doesn't matter though - you'll be faster in a Conda than a T-9.

A trade Conda can easily do 20.49 LY 452T 1 jump routes that will yield 1 Mil cr + per round trip. Once you get that going - you buy any ship you want within a few days...

Without selling the Conda!

I went Python due to the medium pads. I have it fully kitted out (284m buy. ~255 sell. and a 13.7m rebuy with the 16% hull discount accounted for. This includes milspec armor, 6A fuelscoop 7A plant and all other A-Grades and a pair of C3 Beam Turrets. I flew an Anaconda for a while as a trader and never even felt compelled to try it in combat. Used the Anaconda to earn the kitted Python. It was well worth the investment.

For PVE, I can solo any of the SSS varients without issue. For PVP, I can win just about any 1v1 and only fear other Pythons and Anacondas that are well fit so I'm very cautious with them. Swarms of vultures destroy me. Nothing I can do about them when they target my PP. Kinda sucks.

Over all though I love my Python. I ground my way to it just so I could have my "one" ship that I can do everything with. Yes, even exploring, battle fit. Thargoid's won't know what hit 'em.

Oh and this ship with a 6A fuel scoop makes for a perfect nomad ship. Jumping fastest route with a 6A fuel scoop I can keep up with an Anaconda's jump range by my sheer speed. I usually have the fuel for the last jump regathered before my normal FSD cooldown is complete. Just skim the sun long enough to align to the next jump and go. When combined with a 7A plant you won't care about the shorter jump range. That scoop is 28m though... but it's well worth the investment in my opinion since I'm very nomadic.

EDIT: DEATH IN THESE SHIPS SUCKS. Plan your rebuys accordingly.

To any of you who trade in the Annie what is your average cr/hr?
In the type 9 I'm making 6 million on a route that stays viable for hours on end.

I had a T9 and defended it against all the anaconda lover out there. I thought the it was the best trader because it hauled the most (mine was 492t).
In a moment of weakness sold the T9 got a anaconda and realised I was wrong (I know its hard to believe).
It hauls 452t and makes more than the T9. The main reason is its long jump range, this allows me to trade more efficiently.
Its also a joy to fly, something that could never be said of the T9.

I'd just like to thank this thread for allowing me to get the Python at a discount; I had no idea otherwise it was currently available, and was still grinding towards the full price in my Asp... I just checked the Community Goals thread here and nothing was mentioned, and Galnet is only showing the Diso one. Although even this thread didn't say where the discount was, and I ended up having to google that information, it turning up on the elitepve thread. We really, REALLY need a sticky saying where the current rewards are.

Ditto that! As it currently stands, you need to spend almost as much time in the forums as you do in-game to keep up with what's going on. Current CG's and Ship discounts should be a permanent in-game link from the news feed, similar to the traffic report that's always available.

How hard is that ED?

Python. Only a bit less power in the distributor than a conda (~15% I think, could be wrong) but a tonne more maneuverable (esp. vertical thrusters) so you can use a much more powerful arsenal (gimballed/fixed vs turrets since you can keep a pythons nose on NPC elite eagles with relative ease). Half the shields but it can easily kill two master or higher NPC condas at once with no SCBs. Aside from that just jump out then back in when they get low in RES and WZs. IMO neither can really solo the 7 vultures in that SSS. And its rebuy is insanely cheap vs a conda. Plus a fully kitted Python costs about 200mil. An anaconda can run you well north of 400 million for the same thing and again its about the same class of ship (shields traded for maneuverability and speed. Because of how this game works they have ~ the same survivability in almost every PVE situation). That being said I like the cockpit of the conda 100x more so I fly that. Oh one thing I hate about the conda, when shields are down and you get hit it sparks violently as if you are on the verge of overheating and dying. But you can prevent all canopy damage by tilting your nose up a bit. Conversely with out your shield the python's canopy cracks with ease and in a few seconds since you don't fly on your targets 6 much. No paint jobs for the conda as well, if you care about that sort of thing.

I have both the conda and the python. Conda is strictly a trader and does it well. The python does everything else and does it well. Both make me lots of credits no matter what I'm doing. With both these ships there isn't anything I can't do.
I had the T9 for a short while. Very unhappy with everything about it except its cargo hold. Traded it in for a conda and have not looked back once.
My conda doesn't have any weapons and doesn't need them. With 452t of cargo the conda is a big earning machine that rarely gets interdicted. Smallest shields I can find and a bunch of boosters equals no harm done.
The python completely tricked out still has 112t of cargo space making mission work a pleasure.
Buy both. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks to everybody who posted Explorer Conda build-outs, very interesting. But I admit, I would not fly most of the extremist builds (Asp or Conda)

Im unsure why you guys make such small money.
Ive recentlt upgraded to a conda and havnt tested it out yet, but i was earning 38million an hour with my type 7 beforehand on smuggling runs. Litrally a 11.9 ly jump and i get millions from it. If i really push and am selective with missions, i think i could do 60-70 million an hour in my conda.
I may more than 7 million an hour merit hunting in my fdl lol. How ever you are playing, stop. Reread the benifits offered by the power you are loyal to and change your plans... you should be makeing a ton more cr

Necromancer!!

Look at the dates: They were playing the game a year and a half before you, before Horizons, before the mission update, after which you could take high-paying missions above your rank, and before many of the easy money routes existed.

I have both and use both. If you pointed a gun at me and said I was only allowed to keep one, I'd keep the Python.
