Quest 3 - How do you use Virtual Desktop with non-SteamVR ED

Because I can afford it and it's easy. My PC doesn't have a wireless connection, because that's not necessary. It's not an "extra network hop". It can't be any easier than to have a setup you never have to touch, at all. Nothing you said was relevant to my setup.
It is an extra hop and a wireless NIC doesn't need to be touched once it's setup. But hey, if you want to imagine that adding a router doesn't add an extra hop sure - why not (y);)

Again ... it's not. You can say it all you like. Doesn't change facts.

You know what you're right. It's not an extra hop.

It's TWO extra hops (y) :D PC image -> Router -> Headset then Tracking data -> router -> PC. So it's 4 hops instead of 2. But hey, deny all you like, as you say; doesn't change the facts ;)

I have done what was asked in the first page but the game launches into Odyssey not Horizons. Open xr switcher set to open xr. I would like to get back into my ship after a long time but this performance is just annoying.

After the game launches into Odyssey VR immediately exit the game to see the Startup Menu.
From the startup Menu select "Versions" then "Horizons"
You will then be returned to the Startup Menu from which you select "Play"
The game should start in Horizons VR.
It does for me anyway.

Returning VR player looking for advice, and this seems to be the thread for me.

I ran ED this morning after installing the standalone version and was surprised it loaded steam, which back when I used it (way back) it did not do that.

From reading this thread, it looks like I can use the opencomposite DLL to force ED to ignore steam, while my Quest 3 is connected to my PC via Virtual Desktop. Is that about right? I would prefer to use the PerGame DLL rather than the switcher as I have other VR games that I don't want to be effected by this change.

My second question would be, can I still use ED Profiler to switch to flat screen when I want to do some stuff there?

If you Click the "Configure" button in OpenComposite you can then Right Click each application to select whether it runs SteamVR or OpenComposite

Well Commander, that worked perfectly, and I am no flying without the aid of Steam VR :)

Thank you so much. Exactly the solution I was looking for.
