Question about fleet carriers

Credits; Silver buy at 33k sell at 48k easy 15k profit/ton.
Raw; surface scanner for geo bio sites.
In EDO they aren't confined to discrete instances so spread over quite large areas but Thargoid spikes and Guardian sites (brain trees) actually offer quite good hit rates for raw mats in EDO.
Manufactured; HGE fulfill my needs here, places like B Carinae are my go-to.
Encoded; fast ship and wake scanner at an orbital installation gets what I need quickly.
Even at 15,000 per ton profit, 5-10 billion will take quite a while, though I'll keep it in mind...

However, I don't know why you're mentioning Odyssey profits on the Playstation section of the forum, as I'm sure you know, we've been judged too "special" to get the expansion on consoles! 😯😂😀🤘

Mine Platinum: 120 million every two hours guaranteed, plus free raw materials as you mine.
Robigo Mine Runs in a Python: Grade 3, 4 and 5 manufactured materials and 60 million per hour guaranteed.
Jameson's Crash site: grade 3, 4 and 5 scanned materials. Scan the 4 data bases, log out to menu, log back in, rinse, repeat until full.
I've never actually found Platinum when mining, not that I've done a massive amount of mining anyway...

I doubt you want to share your mining source or it might go down pretty quickly, however can you give us some pointers of where to look for it?

Also, how do you make money in general off the crashed Jameson ship data?...

Indeed, I made over a billion when it was sought during a rather lucrative CG a year or two ago, however it general, where can you sell it?

I thought you could only exchange it for other data at a material trader?!
😯😀🤘

You obviously didn't read. You can make the same amount doing Robigo Mine Runs in a Python. There's plenty of options.

If you'd rather spend days sitting around with a wake scanner to fill up rather than about 20 minutes at Jameson's, that's your choice as well.
It's about 20 mins at an orbital installation mate, as long as there's a mat trader in the system. No need for Jameson's relogs.
As for hauling, it's about half the rate of platinum or Robigo but it's got me a full fleet of ships and four carriers so who's counting?

Then you're doing it completely wrong.

First off, use this: Mining Hotspot Finder

Pick Platinum, and then the system you're in. It will tell you where the nearest hot spots are. You want to pick one with a high density rating. I never mine anywhere that is below a 9.2.

Then make sure you have a DSS fitted so you can scan the rings to reveal the actual hot spots and get after it. It's easy money. My Imperial Cutter is better than Citibank.

Thanks, and what about making money off farmed data?

Do material traders buy it, or somewhere else? 😀🤘

If you're talking about Encoded Data Materials, no. You don't make money off of that. You use it for engineering along with Raw Materials and Manufactured Materials. You can trade them at a Materials Trader of each specific type to get ones you need for engineering.

If find it difficult to believe that you've been here since 2017 and don't know that already when I've only been here since March of this year.

I know quite a lot about things in the game and indeed I said, I farmed the crash Jameson ship and got paid a lot for turning it in during one particular CG, however one of your earlier posts seemed to suggest we could make money off such data, or I'm not sure why you mentioned it in this thread 🤔😯😀🤘

You can get intel from horizons surface bases but it doesn't pay much unless you're doing missions.
Indeed I got in game notifications to collect data for the engineer Ram Ta, for which he was offering 50 million, but even after searching online, I've no idea what data he wants or where to get it - is it data such as you get from the Jameson ship or from guardian sites?

If it's the latter, where are the closest sites to him and is it only an SRV you need to collect it, while do you need to do anything special to unlock it? 😀🤘

Ram Tah wants Guardian data, Canonn do a good guide for that mission. I'm not sure how bugged it is ATM but it should pay 101 mil if you do everything.
Biggest issue I encountered was two of the data entries require the same combination of artefacts which is a little confused in the Canonn guide.

I did some exploration a while back after i had already established a decent reputation as a trader and miner. I did a 20kly round trip on my explorer, and because at that time my explorer wasnt fully engineered i did it without shields. I made a decent amount in exploration on that trip and made Elite but, you make the money in trading and mining, exploration is slow and not certain if, you crash before you turn in. I plan on doing the majority of my exploration once i head out to the black, and is why i had to save for the carrier. Exploration will help pay weekly expenses and what not.
