Question About Starting Elite On PC

I mainly play Elite Dangerous on my Xbox but what I want to know is if I start Elite Dangerous on PC and use the same Frontier Account, would I still be able to keep everything I have on my Xbox CMDR, Elite Ranks, Assets, Credits, Engineers etc?

My fault, I thought you were asking to transfer. Yeah just fire up Elite on PC, create a commander and you're good to go 👍

Thank you for help. I was just worried that if I could start on PC with the same frontier account that is linked to my Xbox account that I would lose everything on my Xbox CMDR.

Just for clarification- So I can start a PC CMDR with the same frontier account that is linked to my Xbox and not lose everything I have earned on my Xbox CMDR as long as I don’t go for a credit asset transfer?

They have different logins as far as I know. When you log in to a Frontier service, you use the Xbox authentication, but on PC you use email and password. I have a PC commander and an Xbox commander and I didn't have any issues

I have two accounts with the same name as well. No issues for over a year from having the same name. I have no idea how that impacts tagging discoveries. I initially thought to transfer assests but now looking back it would have been a terrible idea.

The only way I would do that is if the xbox stopped getting updates…so we shall see what happens with future content.

One thing I will share…
My Fleet Carrier was by way of my Xbox account.

I recently decommissioned it but had my PC ship on it because that made sense to me.
Interesting enough now over a month later..possibly due to being on Odyssey on the PC, the Fleet Carrier is still there.

I cannot land on it but I can fly to it…it talks just like it did before and I can select it. No other actions exist but I do hope this doesn’t become an issue if I were to buy one on PC.

This is interesting as I was considering potentially doing the same and decommissioning my PS5 Carrier and getting one on the PC. I suppose I could keep two as the upkeep isn't that big of a deal.

I do still consider my PS5 my main, it's triple Elite and has all the engineering done I could possibly want.

My PC account is very bare bones in comparison and I am not even sure I want to put the same level of engineering effort in I did on the PS5. It makes NPCs much more of a challenge.

My A-rated unengineered PC Krait Phantom made the mistake of idling in a Nav Beacon when a Deadly Anaconda was hunting me due to a mission. The Krait exploded in about 3 seconds I didn't have time to do anything. That wouldn't have happened on the PS5 as it would have been heavily engineered and I'd have just destroyed the Anaconda. I forgot how crappy A rated ships are defensively.

To start on PC you need to buy another ED account (game).
My advice would be to use a different email address for that account - easier to keep things separated (issue tracker logins, inara logins, etc)

I already own the game for pc. I got it when it was free on epic games store. It’s just that I was wondering if it was safe to use the same account.
I already have done now, started on pc with same frontier account and got no issues. I still consider my Xbox account my main one as that’s the one I have pretty much everything unlocked.
