Question: Why are there 6 tally ticks in the victory name plates and not the proper 5?

I noticed the other day that the Victory name plates display their tallies using 6 ticks (5 vertical and 1 horizontal) in a set before moving to the next set instead of the usual/proper 5 (4 vertical 1 horizontal).
I'm wondering if there is some sort of Lore as to why, or if this is an overlooked error by the artist?

I'd say bug - you can report it if you like https://issues.frontierstore.net/reported-issues/elite-dangerous - but I wouldn't hold your breath...

Good spot - Frontier are British, so maybe based in Norfolk? :p

(Meant with love, before anyone gets upset - lived there for 4 years!)
They are in Cambridgeshire, which is close to Lincolnshire (The Fens) where the rumours of Webbed feet, 12 fingers & toes etc. abound. Incidentally Norfolk is just a little further South and have the same accusation thrown at them by the Fenlanders... So you were half-right :)

Which is even further down from Norfolk and right next to Essex where another branch of the family is from. Me the county I am from we are noted for strong arms not counting and I hadn’t noticed this other than they looked odd.

Customs and numbering systems can change in 13 hundred years.

Ahh... "NfN" - a quote my girlfriend from Norfolk regularly likes to quote. Allegedly something doctors used to write on patient records. I dread to think what they write on patient records round where I live!

She has 10 fingers (well, 4 fingers and two thumbs, evenly distributed in the correct order on each hand - for the pedants out there!)
