Apparently using editors these days with particular abilities (like being able to spell and spot grammar mistakes) is frowned upon. Just like few of the newspapers use them anymore (they let journalists publish directly). Apparently machines are good enough. And this is the result. :)

I just wish that you were greeted in a dozen different languages and that some regions of space would require you to have a smattering of "restaurant Francais" and "aviation Polish" and "nautical Indonesian"

Funnily enough the one highlighted in the OP is precisely the kind of mistake only a native speaker will do, or at least someone profficient enough they start playing it by ear without really thinking about grammar or semantics.
When you have to ponder every word you use because the right ones still don't come naturally, you can't replace a possessive adjective with a personal pronoun + conjugated verb.

Maybe FDev should use the lingua-Franca of the 3300’s rather than the challenging and exception laden English ? Maybe Esperanto has finally been adopted? Or we could all be speaking some Cantonese dialect?

Although, if the Thargoid charge continues, its more likely we would be using pheromones rather phonemes to communicate!

..it's not just the crass spelling mistakes, but often the clunky and awkward choice of words used. Case in point, "massacre missions".

According to Websters: "the act or instance of killing a considerable number of human beings under circumstances of atrocity or cruelty", synonymous with bloodbath, butchery, carnage, slaughter, blood purge, genocide, pogrom etc.

Whereas FE2/FFE used artful language, only making coy or obtuse references to violence in a nudge nudge, wink wink kind of way, ED's writers just go swinging in with verbal machetes, unblinkingly espousing visceral carnage in a title aimed at impressionable young minds...

...yet the forum blocks words like "wood" or "curtains"... go figure..

Proofing has been an issue for as long as I can remember, essentially there isn't any. Between this and getting "You really are a shining example.." for every transport mission I do, it's got to the point where I no longer pay attention to any of the text content on the mission boards.
