Radar. Please don't reset it every time I enter new instance!

That just getting obnoxiously boring. What's the point of upgrading your radar if it's purely annoying to begin with? Can't it's just stay once you set it max range? I will say it again and again. Please let the radar stay in the fixed position once we set it up. Thank you.

this! +1

also, i still havent figured out if there is a way to not display planets and suns on the radar? I always get told to check for people behind me in supercruise, and that they are triangles when they have their weapons out...only problem is in my radar i see 24312 planets and suns, and all the ships are hidden behind.

More so - on the busy trading lane toward some distant station ships align in a tight line of dots, all cramped together. And if you chase some other Commander or being chased by him/her - it's quite tedious task to sort all ships through contact list. It's just no way of saying whom of those ships exactly is the other player. They just stick together so tight on the radar that you can't sort them out in a reasonable amount of time.

Yup, I've written about this months ago. If I set my radar to max range, it's because I'd like for it to REMAIN at max range.

+1 bugs the hell out of me...
and Sargon I am sending you my shrinks bill, you have messed with my mind with the creepy baby...oh the nightmares!

Well I've always hated Kermit the frog so you just barely escaped my cease and desist letter for the use of a Muppet! :D

I just set up my radar controls on a second hat and switching it back and forth all the time makes me hitting chaff and ship lights. I'd rather not have radar there at all and instead assingn my hat so something useful actually while my radar will always stays at max range.

While they're fixing this, maybe they can allow me map one of the rotary knobs on the X55 throttle to this - they seem to be a good use for them but I can't do it for the moment.

I think if it's a player we should see CMDR XYZ from the outset rather than having to target them.

It does work on my x52. I mean rotary knobs. I use them to cycle ships and hostile ships.

Ah. This has come up over at the DDF, so whilst I'm here...
a) +1 to not adjusting radar range every time I hit an instance.
b) Please can we have a 'linear' mode that means 'linear' in super-cruise? It freaks me out a bit that the scanner shows planets/ships/stars I'm moving away from as coming closer, because the range is being automatically adjusted.
c) Please can we have a 'de-clutter scanner' to remove non-firm contacts and stuff hanging round the edges of the scanner that are superfluous?
d) The 'Saitek rotary knobs for range control' has come up a few times before now, and even got an 'it's a good idea' from someone at Frontier once. Please can this be looked at again?
e) Please can Line-of-Sight be properly implemented for the scanner. How does a supposedly heat-based instrument manage to lock-up other ships through asteroids and station walls. (And for that matter how does the basic scanner lock on to asteroid ring clusters through a star? If anything is going to mess with heat-based (or any other) sensors, surely its going to be a ruddy great ball of fusing hydrogen and helium, kicking off all sorts of radiation, being only 3 light seconds away? :D )
e) Please can

Yeah it also bugs me that the scanner can show me things further away in SC than in normal space by a factor of a gazillion (or maybe this has been explained), and that I can't target things I can clearly see with my mark-1 eyeball - heat recognition should be a supplement not a replacement.

+1 also the galaxy menu route planner should remember route options.... and please give us bookmarks in nav panel for routes!!!!
