Yeah I agree, I think it would be nice to have some visual or audio (or both) feedback on when ranking up, or obtaining a new reputation status

More positive feedback in this game, more cues you achieved something.
Life itself is gamificated today with achievements, can't be that games are less gamified than life :D

I need that serotonin rush!

Gimme a message when I rank up, show me that beautiful ship that I bought, let me admire that new module I installed in some way, let me take a look at the paint job from more than 1 angle.
(OMG, the first thing EVERY player can agree on? THis is a happy day for the forum!)

It cannot be anything else. Like others I am positively dismayed that it's not there already - it was the one piece of encouragement the original Elite ever gave you.

If I remember rightly from the original 'right on commander' used to flash up on your screen when you achieved a new rank....that was on the C64, 30 years ago!

This can't be that hard to implement can it?

I'd actually like to see an in game inbox.
Then you could get an "incoming message from The Pilot's Federation" message.
I'd probably bother to read galnet now and then if there was a "mark as read" feature too.

Same thing happened to me. Ranked up, didn't even notice. Till I did, obviously :)

Come on FD this must be doddle to add.

Even a big blue message on the screen would do....

If they were going to add it I would assume it would be in the top right notification box like the 'Astronomical Object found' message.

I would hope for a small fanfare and not the space horn noise.

There must be some reason why this wasn't added.

I, too, would love an incoming message from the Pilots' Federation about any kind of rank increase.... Even better if it was attached to the odd "Right on, Commander".

Even better if it kicked off a mission chain each time.
