Ranking problems is turning me away from this game once again.

Ok im just about had enough of this now....
I took a break from this game around 2 years and i started playing again.
Im still stuck on 100% Rank for Empire and im Allied with the Faction om doing missions for.

Why wont it give me a rank up mission? Its been like this for days, surely if im at 100% then i should get a rank up by now?

Its worse than it was 2 years ago i think..

Any suggestions before i quit the game for good?

You're not the only one. I'm stuck at 100% too, and there have been a couple of other threads. One of the 3.0.3 patch notes was that the rank-up missions were moved to follow on:

Ranking up has always been a bit hit and miss, though I did find a good spot in the Empire. Unfortunately something in the 3.03 update has removed them entirely. On the plus side you can still build up rep for later ranks while waiting for FD to fix the problem.

If I can repeat what I have said numerous times to other players.

Keep yourself within a tight circle of systems while running the missions .... don't wander the bubble hoping a rank mission will turn up. One of those factions you are gaining rep with will start offering you the missions, just can't predict which one.

But keep your movements reasonably local.

If they are using follow-on missions, they will spawn in the in-box (when working properly) from donations if they are anything like previous to 3.0

While that is good advice, it won't help in the short term. I was doing courier missions in a well known grind spot (two remote systems each with just a single outpost). On Sunday night I was breezing through the ranks. After the update on Monday the rep climbed as before but no Naval missions were generated.

Well let's see, board flip, I know it's a dirty word.

Solo seems to spawn them more.

And best of all think about what systems you're working in. Find a nice empire system or two with either close to, or max # of factions being empire in it and work between those two systems. Get all the empire factions maxed and you will get them faster. If you're in a system with only 1 or 2 factions, well you've limited your chances. I just recently finished both fed and empire, well high enough for all ships. And I had no problem getting missions. Sometimes it took a few runs to get them to show. But with whatever it is 7-8 allied factions in the station I had 7-8 chances every time.

Also be aware now that they should show up in the follow on mission section so be sure you're not skipping over the follow ons when you look for them now.

Thanks you all, ive tried all the tricks and its been stuck for days. Fed up with it now, going to stop playing i think until its fixed. If it ever does get fixed. Funny because 2 years ago this was broken, i come back after 2 years and its still broken.

Well rng always has a chance to hate people at times lol.

But find a place with a few systems with a lot of, or else max of empire minor factions will increase your odds. Also, As long as you are fairly sure you haven't either done enough to be max rank or whatever rank you ultimately want to stop at, then just keep rank grinding away and you'll get the missions as well as keep getting closer to your end goal. Sometimes you get lucky and get 3 or 4 rank ups in a row once one spawns. If you have enough to rank up that many times obviously ;)

And it really does seem like these missions tend to show up more often in solo mode. The majority of mine were found when flipping to solo. I think this a generally held belief, but idk there is any thing but anecdotal evidence for this.

Also just another thought, are you by chance in a large pad ship? And if you are do you check the missions at the bottom you can't take? Because you could be getting missions you can't do in a large ship possibly, and they would be buried down there. I know I've forgetting about it before.

Not all follow-on missions appear in the inbox. Some are only available from the mission board. I get relatively few in my inbox, but have seen many on the mission boards of my local stations.

Well, instead of the rank grind, have you tried an alternative grind, such as engineering your ship ? Improving the FSD range of your ship for Felicity Farseer would be worth your while .... makes a quality of life experience whizzing around the systems.

This will work for engineers that do not require permits or invite missions. Those are also broken at the moment and are not spawning.

Count yerself fortunate op...at least ye can still dock right? Cos I cant...and Im hostile with the closest interstellar factors...and Ive had to logout to conserve fuel cos I have absolutely no idea what Ive done wrong or how to fix it. It was fun at the start but its getting a bit tiresome now because Im locked outta my home station fer no apparent reason. Game cant even tell me what my sin is or how to fix it...just left me drifting in space burning fuel with no fuel scoop.

Bad day? Hmm something like that...Ive also been stuck on 100% marquis past couple days and am not one bit amused with this game at this precise moment in time.

But Ill sort it out...possibly best done after some sleep as the heady mix of late night, caffeine and thc isnt helping matters any.

Ye know what thats called op? Thats called bein a grown up. Ive not had a good day either and thats without mentioning Ive had two big rebuys in two days which means Im losing more than Im making...when Im already short and the white knights are pinching the pennies.

Ye Im pretty fed up too op...but I dont rant and rave about it...even though I wanna rip someones ribs out through their nostrils...nice weather were having lately dont ye think?

Yea the annoying thing for me is the fact it’s such a major issue, it’s been addressed and we’ve been given no ETA on a patch. I don’t know much about coding but surely this is a simple serverside fix and doesn’t even require a patch to be pushed out right? I’m really confused as why a broken game system as important as rank up / permit missions which engineers are locked behind aren’t being given a top priority and if they are why aren’t they fixed yet? It doesn’t appear to be something that would be difficult to fix. If it was the new mission delievery system that broke it (that will apparently make them easier to spot, Cuz they was so difficult to spot on the message board lol) then just roll back to pre patch system.
