Ranking the areas still requiring animals

Taiga rhymes with SAIGA,

But I’ll wait for others to post, I can’t think of any animal from those regions

Essential: wolverine
Good: Siberian Musk Deer
Odd: Capercaille

Discussion #15: Eurasian Taiga and North American Taiga
Essential:
  1. Wolverine: Good rep for Eurasia and NA. Fierce little beast
  2. American Black Bear: Last main essential for NA
Good:
  1. Wapiti: majestic deer for NA
  2. Bighorn Sheep: I think the range extends into taiga slightly. This is more of a mountain creature
  3. Martens: There are several great options for martens. Both the yellow-throated for Asia and the Pine/Beech marten for Europe would be cool. If we get a ton of support (+100 animals), I might be interested in the American fisher.
Oddball:
  1. Canadian Lynx: I'd prefer a bobcat (which seems to range slightly into taiga) for versatility, but the taiga seems to be more the domain of the Canadian Lynx
  2. Siberian Musk Deer: I like muntjacs better, but this could also work as small, fanged deer for Asia
  3. Wisent: conservation story
  4. White Tailed Deer: possible sub for Wapiti

Discussion #15: Eurasian Taiga and North American Taiga
Essential:
  • Wolverine: one of the most iconic animals from this biome
  • American black bear: all bears are essential animals
  • Eurasian otter or North American river otter: we need a cold biome solitary otter to counterpart the two tropical otters that live in groups
Good:
  • Alpine marmot: we need a small animal for cold biomes to counterpart the meerkats and prairie dogs
  • Eurasian brown bear: to repair the mistake made when choosing the HBB instead
Odd:
  • Wapiti: a nice partner for the red deer
  • Roe deer: it would complete the European deer
  • Siberian Musk Deer: cute little deer
  • Pine marten: something new

i haven't mentioned muskox becasue I think they are more in the tundra category, and wild boards and European bisons are more into the temperate biome.

Discussion #15: Eurasian Taiga and North American Taiga
Essential animals
  • Wolverine. I don’t really care but this animal can be used in multiple areas and continents so it has a versatility. That and people want it.
  • A temperate otter. I will repeat Aramar’s point despite leaning to the taxonomic side.

Good additions
  • Groundhog. While not the most attractive animal, this rodent is culturally relevant with the holiday named after it. The NA overrepresentation could hamper this animal’s chances. Gimme the Punx man.
  • American Black Bear. This animal could cause a discourse, but I always thought of them as a keystone species of North America. Said continent could hamper its chances akin to the groundhog.
Unexpected oddballs
  • Canada Goose. It’s only in the oddball section because this animal is more of a taxonomic request (waterfowl) so I will list it as an oddball the way I listed the black swan. This animal might cause a heated debate since people who live amongst these birds tend to not like them due to their protective nature. But to that I say a man can dream.
  • Bobcat. I love ‘en but I wouldn’t expect them due to them looking indistinguishable from the Eurasian lynx to many people.
  • Wisent. Similar reason to bobcat.

I missed the discussion about temperate Australia. The only thing I'm gonna say about it is the Tasmanian Devil is essential.

About Eurasian Taiga and NA Taiga

Essential: American Black Bear (I think of it more as a temperate animal but since everyone is mentioning it here, I will too)

Good additions: Wolverine
NA Porcupine (if it counts as Taiga, I'm not sure)

Oddballs: Alpine Marmot

Can't think of anything, honestly

Essential
Wolverine: the only animal I find essential to North America anyway. Aside from peccary which I associate more with south america.

Good
Musk ox: cool caprines. There are better choices in unrepresented continents though.

Man there really aren't many requested animals from the taiga biome. Squirrels, hares, martens... well not surprising really I'vd never seen a zoo heahy on taiga animals.

Actually I forgot another essential. The Eurasian boar. I'm pretty sure it's found in the Eurasian tagia. It would make a really good a addition to the area.

To be fair there arent to many animals that are exlusively taiga inhabitants. Most of the animals found in taigas are also found in more temperate regions

How can a sane human being not care for a freaking vampire deer? Really people? 🙀

Musk Deer are taiga animals, my blijdorp zoo has them, so realism lovers have no reason to not want them in the game, I guess they rather see leopard #2 😿😂 or boring otter #20

Yeah musk deer are cool. I'll also add them to my good additions section.

Essential:
• American Black Bear: A must have for North America, a common zoo animals in North America even in Mexico is more common than the Grizzly Bear

Good adittions:
• Elk: another common in zoos here but now that we have the red Deer I see difficult
• Wild boar
• North America or Euroasian river other
• North America porcupine
• Any species of Squirrels

Oddballs:
• American Badger
• Wisent
• Canadiense Lynx
• Coyote

Obsession with the wisent on these forums is bizar 😬
You know what else is really bizzare? Your attitude towards other people wishes. Most posts I read from you consist of mocking people that like realism, acting like your wishes are superior and cleverly calling people stupid for wishing something that you personally do not like...No-one is calling out your obsession with Saiga and Leopard Seal, so why you do it to others?

Yeah, this post will most likely be deleted, but...it had to be said.

Uhm, just a fun notice about an ontopic animal and you are going out of your mind with hostility? Why? No-one is calling out my obsession? You just did.

Edit: funny to see posts against ME (perfect me) always seem to get the most likes around here, so much hate against me, must be special!
