Zaonce - Leathery Eggs (State = BOOM)

Leathery Eggs had been selling at a max allocation of 2 for a while.

Then there were some news reports in the local bulletins about an increase in local confidence and the Max Alloc increased to 4.

I haven't been paying attention to the local states and the changes taking place, I really should take more notice.

Anyway, today Leathery Eggs have gone a bit odd!

Allocation went up to 10!

BUT - The price has increased to nearly 25k!

That means you have to travel at least 120ly JUST TO BREAK EVEN!!

You would have to travel 400ly to sell them for 50k.

HOWEVER;

Over on Count's screen, things look a little different. They still cost 24k, but the listed SALE price is 12k!? Whut?

Why would the two commanders see a different sale price?

That's what you get for selling it back to the station, not buying it. The difference between the two screenshots is the 3 eggs in the hold of the second ship.

Curious that it would change after buying them rather than state that at the outset.

So you only got 3 as well. I might do a few more missions after work so I can see what the maximum allocation is. I'll add it to the wiki (edit - done). I was right about HIP 118311 Swarm being a weapon. i'm guessing it's a battle weapon, so that's 2 in game now.

Swarm is the codename of the weaponised form of the tiny but lethally poisonous biting insects native to HIP 118311. Manipulated by a control fluid, the weapons can be targeted onto enemy positions using a remote electromagnetic beam, then unleashed to wreak chaos and death on enemy ranks. The weapon’s trademark buzzing quickly made it a favourite with crime syndicates, favoured for intimidation and enforcement purposes. Banned in most jurusdictions

Though the system is still in Civil War.

Patau82, you put the allocation of HIP 118311 Swarm at 3 tons. I'm getting 8 tons first time now. The civil war is over, so the tiny allocation seems to have stopped.

Was the controlling faction in boom?

Rare production is boosted during a boom which results in 10+ availability for the normally 1t rares - see the posts about Leathery Eggs earlier.

After some months without playing I came back to play horizons and obsvly went to LAVE LEESTI ZAONCE and bought some rares, then I went to ZEESSZE which is around 140ly away from LAVE and low and behold, I was selling at a loss!
So my question is, what changed? does the distance need to be bigger now or rare trading isn't even a thing anymore?

sounds to me like a bug. if you are running 3rd party tools like market conncetor etc. - they are known to trigger that bug: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...!/page183?p=3979131&highlight=bug#post3979131

Wow - that probably explains why I was getting zero profit on rares a while back - I asked about it but nobody mentioned this issue at the time.

Anyone know if experience jelly is back yet? It's a long trip to make for nothing. I was there about a week ago and it was apparently illegal, ergo off the market. The system map is too vague to reliably determine what narcotics are actually illegal. Obviously generic narcotics and obviously anarchy systems/stations. Master Chefs are legal in plenty of Federal controlled ports. Not that I'm complaining. Just wondering if I could get some secondhand experience. Beats trial and error.

Pinzon Dock appears to be owned by an Alliance faction, which definitely makes narcotics illegal. I don't remember who was in charge last time I bought the jelly.

Delta Pavonis Ear Grubs are not for sale at Hopper Relay, Delta Pavonis.

The controlling faction is in boom. It's a Fed Democracy, but I think that Delta Pavonis has always been a Fed system.

System was flipped from feds a long time ago to unlock this rare, seemed to happen by it self when BGS was acting up
If feds now control system it's been flipped back so Ear Grubs are now blocked

I'm in Cherbones right now, and allocation is 48t when the controlling faction is in a Boom state.

It seems that the max allocation of Ngadandari Fire Opals is 12. I have been at the station for several hours, and I cannot buy more than 12.

At the same time, the allocation of HR 7221 Wheat has been 18 for me (not 16, as stated in the first post).

The allocation amount doesn't work the way it used to. The maximum you can get in one lucky roll is sometimes far more than the maximum you can get from incremental allocations.

Unfortunately, people have been updating the numbers in the Wiki with the lucky roll numbers, so now there is no real idea what to expect.
